That is very true. They are the last group of society to ask for help or use a food bank.

when i was in college, i was going for Art Therapist
thats my reality dream job,
unrealistic- a job where i tell people how bad they suck at their customer service. seriously, i want a job where i go places, and get paid for it (and everything i do is on the company) so basically im travelling for free, and i jot down whats wrong with places, and tell them how to fix it.

Before the Dr's made me retire I had my own boat repair shop.  Most of my work was on the water at a few of the local lakes.  Many marinas around, I had an accesss card so I could go anywhere.  Customer would call me and describe the complaint and tell me where the key would be, I would take care of it, and leave a copy of the bill with the key.

The really great parts is they were paying me not just to fix their boat, but to take it out, run it around the lake and make SURE it was perfect.

I would get to spend most my whole summer getting paid to be out on the water.

Life can't get much better than that.

Rainy days I had boats in the shop that others would drop off.

Travelling up and down the US east coast, Caribbean, and Latin America on a sportfish fishing for marlin in all the top spots and participating in all the tournaments. A type of job where you actually looked forward to the boss coming down so you can actually go fishing and put the wax rags away for a few days. It was always nice to get on a boat where the boss would even encourage you to take it out fishing if the bite was on even if he wasn't there so you could stay in practice for when he did come or send guests down.
And of course having a well stocked drink box and liquor cabinet was a nice bonus. :beer1;

Of course it can come with a downside as living out of a duffle bag can get old. So I stopped the international traveling part and bought a house here in MD and decided to just work on a boat out of here a few of years ago. I had to give it all up last year because of my issue but couldn't take not doing it so I'm going to try to get back out there this year, though part time. And whenever I get my new part installed, whenever that will be, I intend to go back to some traveling again, though cut back from before. The lifestyle gets in your blood.
