Elizabeth was given 10 years as a best case scenario from her doctor.  She made it to five years.  Spent one whole year in a nursing home and recovered to have another three years of quality life. Her dialysis treatments were becoming painful because her blood pressure kept crashing and they would remove her from the machine-thus no water was removed.  She told me a few weeks before the end that she told God she had enough, all she could stand. She died peacefully, just closed her eyes.  We were friends for 49 years.  I miss her terribly.

Im so sorry and sad for your loss. It does hurt..a lot  :'(  I am thankful that  that God took your friend peacefuly and gave that gift to her and you.  I lost a dear friend from this site here and my heart still cries for her as well. When some people leave us, it takes a place that cant be filled, but you were blessed knowing that she had asked God for this, and her prayers were answered so you can gather comfort from that.  Bless you for being such a friend..  And may she rest in peace..   :cuddle;

Thinking of you...

May your friend rest in peace... I don't know if I knew Elizabeth, but last October, I lost two REALLY good friends I met on this site, and I STILL shed tears for them both... It's amazing how wrapped up we become in each other's struggle with this dreadful disease... Most of us will never have physically met, but we certainly feel the loss of those people who have travelled the renal road with us....

Regards to all...
