hello everyone.. im maria from the philippines 29 years old.. a registered nurse and still single..i was on dialysis for almost 2 years and now i am 6 months post kidney transplant.. ..im havng problem with my creatinine and infection. when i was in my 3 months transplant, i had an acute rejection, they gave me methylprednisolone, then my creatinine went normal again. then last march i had an infection and my creatinine went high upto 1.75 so they gave me shot of methylprednisolone again at IV antibiotics and 1 week oral antibiotic, before discharge at the hospital my creatinine is on the normal level and also my infection is gone. but after just a 4 days, my creatinine went up again at 1.5 and had infection again. it reoccured. my doctor changed my medicine from neoral to prograf and gave me antibiotic again and after 4 days again, still my creatinine is 1.59 and my infection is still there, i checked again my crea and infection after 4 days again now my creatinine is on 1.89 allready and infection went high again.. even if im taking antibiotic.. i really dont know what to do.. i allready had 2 acute rejections and im really worried if im going to lose my trnsplanted kidney now.. please help me.. my doctor prescribed me diferent antibiotic now, and will undergo BK virus test and urine culture, and eventually biopsy. im really scared because on my first 3 months of transplant my creatinine is stable below .1 never went high to 1.. i badly need advice and please tell me if im gonna lose my kidney.. whatever antibiotic they gave me still my creatinine is getting higher and higher and also my infection.. pls help thanks!

What a scary time for you!  I am so sorry you are having to go through this.  It sounds like your docs are doing all they can.  Hopefully you will have more answers once the BK virus test results come back.  It sounds like they are still trying to identify the infectious agent.  Once they can identify what exactly the infection is, then they can treat it more effectively, and that will hopefully get your creatinine back down.

I would tell you to try not to worry, but if it were me, I'd be scared to death, not because there would definitely be a reason to be scared, but just because we are all afraid of losing a new kidney.  I wish you the best and hope you will let us know what the tx doc finds out.
