Hi All, I'm Kate, 28, from New Brunswick Canada. I was diagnosed with cystic dysplastic kidneys at age 10 and was on peritoneal from age 10 to age 12. I was transplanted with a kidney from my Dad at age 12.
That kidney failed 3 years ago and I was on peritoneal in the beginning, but have been on Hemo for one year.  I am currently on the cadaver donor list.
Nice to meet you all!
Cheers,
K

Hiya, Kate! :waving;

I am a former dialysis child and young transplant recipient as well. We seem to suddenly have quite a few new members like yourself who came into the kidney failure experience way too early.

I hope you'll feel free to jump into any discussions. I have a feeling that your range of experience with dialysis and transplant could help a lot of people here. Of course we also want to know the person battling the disease, so I hope you'll tell us more about yourself as the mood hits you.

Welcome to IHD Kate!

Gee, another person who has been having to deal with this fun stuff since a young age. I am sure you have so much experience and thoughts to share with us - I am looking forward to seeing you as part of our community.

Hi Kate.  I was a dialysis kid as well.  I was on PD from age 12 to 14.  If we're around the same age, we may have been at the IWK at the same time
