So today I go in for dialysis, I'm usually a Tues, thurs, and sat guy but do to me having to miss dialysis on Saturday I wanted to make up my treatment, well I get there and they say well we're not ready for you but you are on the schedule, well ok that's fine I'm early anyways, so then later they come back and say that I wasn't aloud to make up the treatment because it was not within the same week, however when I cleared this with them the week before everything was fine no one said anything, so I just asumed all was ok. Well the manager said that I could make it up but from now on I can only make up a treatment if it falls within the same week. Now I have never heard of such a rule in my life, in fact when I do miss treatments and don't make them up (I've only done this once) the corperat office will call and it will be a week later asking me if I want to make the missed treatment up, so how could I be told that I can't make up a treatment when your corperat office says I can? It's a bunch of BS!
Well it doesn't stop there, this makes the second time someone has set my machine wrong, because of my ability to urinate very well still they are only suppose to pull the minimum or the requirement for that machine to clean the blood plus give me flushes to make up for the goal, well someone keeps putting for it to pull more, heck I don't even have a dry wait for goodness sakes! so because of that I crashed both times. My doctor talked to them numerous  times about not flushing me and setting the machine wrong and they are still doing it! I don't get it! Today I told the nurse on duty about it and she said well you are going to have to live with what you got, so basically she didn't seem to care just you know oh well just deal with it.
Now since I can't see the machine because as most of you know, I'm blind I can't see my settings, if my goal is set right, etc. I guess I'm going to have to bring someone with me to babysit the machine for me, lol.
I am going to tell my dr. again about that but it's just frustrating, maybe FMC would like to lose my business?

I'm agreeing with you Sulli, it might be time to vote with your feet and find a different center. It sounds like you have a good rapport with your Neph, does he work with any other centers? Check with him and see what he recommends.

I hope all goes well for you. Good Luck!

If there are more than 3 treatments in a one week period, they usually have to have medical justification of why there were 4 in one week.  The government has set the standard at 3.  The should have been no problem getting the order.  Maybe they should give you your fluid back at the beginning of treatment then they can pull it back off.  I would talk to the facility manager about the nurse's bad attitude.  Hopefully, they aren't the manager and can make it right.  Just suggestions ...

My neph is having my tech put a reminder sign on my machine so they don't forget the flushes, hopefully this will work.
