Well, I have one more mail day before we leave for Massachusetts!  :pray;

And if it doesn't come then, it will just have to sit at the post office until we get back....

Fingers crossed!

My package has arrived safely, and is sitting on the piano looking mysterious.  It smells rather lovely.

You sniffed it??  :o

I not only sniffed it, I shook it and squeezed it gently.       :shy;

Still none the wiser.

*LOL*  it was an old Stephen Colbert fangirl joke.  There was a time when a few of us decided that if we ever got close enough, we'd do 2 things..  1, try to shake his hand, to find out if the rumor about him having very soft hands was true.  The rumor has since been verified, but unfortunately, not by me.. 2, give him a good sniff.  One of the girls had this weird thing of wanting to know what he smelled like.  I've been close to him, but not close enough to sniff him, but I did have a chance to have a short conversation with him and his best friend, and fellow comedian, Paul Dinello.  I got both their autographs on a book they cowrote with another comedian, Amy Sedaris.  I haven't got her autograph on it yet, but I'm going to keep trying. *G*

We had to travel north without my gift. Nothing came in the mail yesterday. I must have been a very bad, bad girl.  :rofl;

Hopefully it will be waiting for me when I get back after the holidays!  :2thumbsup;

I have something special to wait for!  :clap;

I LOVE getting presents after the day itself; it makes the fun last that much longer!  Hope you have a brilliant time away and that your SS gift is waiting for you when you return.

We still have the four outstanding gifts to arrive but I know they have all been sent and I'm just keeping everything crossed that the delay for each of these is that they've become tangled up in all the Christmas/holiday season post which tends to clog up the system at this time of year. If they don't arrive in time for Tuesday please accept my heartfelt apologies and my hope that they arrive as soon as possible afterwards!  I have sent PMs to the recipients involved (except Aleta, due to the post above!) to apologise on behalf of their SSs and the postal service!

Can I indulge in a stiff drink yet or do I need to wait till all the presents are safely delivered?! *grin*

You deserve that drink, and enjoy one for me, too, as I am not allowed any alcohol while on this antibiotic regimen!

I hope the gifts arrive this week, at least, if not by tomorrow!
Thanks again Poppy, and you do not owe anyone an apology! You have done an amazing job of pulling this all together.
I have organized the IHD Holiday Gift Exchange myself and it's a huge job - nothing works out perfectly but you do the best you can!

I have been passing by my gifts daily and am so curious what they are. Secret Santa is such fun!  :bandance;

Well my secret Santa package is no longer sitting on the piano.  My Secret Santa is James, husband of CebuShan.  He sent me the dinkiest little sewing kit, a lovely kitchen set (the oven mitts will get used today) and a Christmas ornament with a cardinal (bird) - I'll have to google more details there - it's Illinois's' state bird.  But my favourite thing is the delightful little wind chime with a sparrow sitting on top - it is so sweet. Thank you so much James.  It was so exciting opening the packages, and the photo is really lovely, too.

Happy Christmas, CebuShan and James

My gold package is still sitting on Mom's dresser... I think it's an out of sight, out of mind thing... I know it's there, but I'm not picking at it, cuz I can't get to it.. *L*

Only 10:20pm here Christmas Eve.  Just got home from the movies.  My oldest and I saw The Hobbit.  I pick up the 2 youngest from their mom's at noon tomorrow and then we get to open presents.  I hope all have a happy and healthy Christmas.

As Mum is still in hospital, we've decided not to open gifts until she comes home...
