Am here because of my wife who is on dialysis

« on: September 26, 2012, 02:51:28 AM »

Greetings of the day to everyone in the name of our Lord ! I joined this forum for my wife(name is Bithi) who has been diagnosed with Cortical Necrosis of the kidneys on 21st July, 2012. She had undergone a piles(bleeding hemorrhoids) operation on 26th May, 2012 and thereafter mysteriously(and unfortunately) went into Acute Renal Failure(ARF). Doctors had given us hope that there would be reversal of the kidneys as in most ARF cases, that is the norm. But that didn't happen either. She had started her dialysis(Thrice-a-week-schedule) immediately after she went into ARF and still continuing. We are a small family of 3, that's including our daughter who is 14 years old, and are from India. May God Bless all the members with abundant sunshine.

Sorry to hear about your wife.  I too had acute failure first time around that couldn't be reversed.  I hope that your wife is adjusting well to dialysis.  Best wishes to you and your family.

Hello Mike,
Nice to know you. She was earlier on Jugular veins, but the Lab medics have now put her on AV fistula(created on her upper left arm). This is becoming a little painful for her as on the 3rd Dialysis(with the AV fistula), the lab medic had slipped the needle and damaged her muscle, which caused her a lot of pain. Thereafter she had to be put on a femoral catheter which is removed each time after the dialysis. The Nephrologist has advised that until the swelling and pain subsides in her fistula, it cannot be used.

Veering on a different topic(your description line says : Why do bad things always happen to good people?). Mike, take it that you or whoever this line refers to is very fortunate to be chosen as the elect servant of THE ALMIGHTY. Whenever he selects someone, HE tests that person, and in all my life I have learnt that HIS way of testing(how much faith you have on HIM) is to burn you in pain and misery. Having said that, it doesn't mean HE wants us to suffer, infact HE does want us to hold HIS finger and cling on to HIM, just like a creator always loves HIS offsprings. It's just HIS way of testing HIS elect servants, and those who qualify, triumphs in life eternally. Good Luck and Best wishes Mike !

Kind regards

Welcome Kush,

I'd love to get to India some day, and take in some IPL action! It sounds as though your wife has just arrived at the crease. She's facing a pretty hostile bowling attack, and on a sticky wicket, so make sure you stay with her. Tell her to play every ball on its merits. I haven't had to bat yet, but I'm all padded up. Hang in there, and remember that we're all on the same team here.

Dear Mr.Pink,

Greetings of the Day in the name of our Lord. My wife is indeed facing a very hostile bowling attack and she was totally unprepared for this, didn't get the time even to warm-up in the dug out, leave alone the surprise when she heard her name being called to go out with all the gear to the 22 yards and play for the ARF team ! Just imagine a completely healthy lady who has seen only 36 birthdays in her life, going in for a minor piles operation(bleeding hemorrhoids), and rising up from sleep on the next day and being greeted by a nephrologist with a stern face declaring, "You have been selected in the team of ARF(Acute Renal Failure)". Being just a side-liner, I only whisper to her "Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you !" ~ There is an Umpire(of Life) whose decision is all-prevailing, who knew us even when we were in the womb, HIS Mercy and Glory is more than enough to battle any adversary in the Universe !

God bless you and have a wonderful day.

Dear Boswife,

May the Elohim shower you with abundant sunshine. I do believe the power of prayer is enormous. We by genesis, are all the children of The Father. His own Word says that The Father never ever forsakes His children, however much the children may offend and lie. HE is a true loving Father. If one can confess with his/her heart and speak to The Father with all his/her heart one can witness events totally unprecedented, for HE is the creator of the entire Universe, nothing is impossible for Him. His throne is The Throne of Grace and Justice !

You will be surprised to know that by submitting to the feet of The Father my wife is mentally and psychologically much better than the initial stages, when it was disclosed to her the grim news of cortical necrosis of her kidneys. For a kidney patient it is of much importance that he/she is comforted and is mentally charged up. I am a sinner, but the Grace and Glory of The Almighty and His Son has touched me in many ways, if you are interested to know further, do send me a private message.

May the Divine Grace & Glory touch each forum member's life and their loved ones. I pray to my dearest Abba for the wellness and happiness for all members in this forum.

Peace and regards

Welcome Kush

have you looked in PD verse Hemo for your wife's dialysis?  If not, please ask your Dr.  It may work for your wife since it appears that her fistula isn't going to work and a chest tube isn't the best method for keeping infections at bay.  There are a bunch of us here on PD and we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.    Grumpy

Hello and Good Morning Grumpy,

By the Grace and Glory of The Almighty God, her fistula is working(Still I will have a look at the PD option). When it was not working, I prayed to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, our Lord's Might and Glory have made this possible. Praise and Glory be only to our God ! ~ "And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith."(Matthew 21:22)

Dear Grumpy, do you believe in the power of prayers ? Do you believe the power of prayer can change the findings even on a CT scan film ? :) I ask this, as in real-life this has happened with my wife ! ~   ”Ask, and it will be given to you, Seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7)

May your life be filled with abundant sunshine by the Grace and Glory of our Lord.

I am a little late on the welcome wagon, but hello! i am glad to hear that her fistula is working. Needle infiiltrations hurt like crazy! Fistulas take a while to fully mature but they are real workhorses when they are ready to go! I have had mine for 9 years now and it's still working beautifully. I hope she is adapting well. No one wants to join this crazy club, but at least the people are nice and funny and have a TON of great advice.

Hello and Good Morning Cynna,

Thank you for kind words. She is adapting(or let's put it "trying to adapt") to the nightmares of dialysis. Being on the side of her for the last 4 months, I do fully understand why people "Hate" dialysis. It's really a trauma for newbies who have been put into dialysis for the first time. The forum members here are very nice and kind, as most of them have undergone the experience themselves and have full sympathy and kindness towards others. There are also tons of informative advises in this forum, very helpful indeed.

Have a wonderful day, God bless you !
