Check out last year's Secret Santa posts.

A lot of work for the one running it.

I hope so!  I've loved doing it for the last couple of years.

A lot of work for the one running it.
How time consuming is it? I would offer to run it but worry that I may make a mistake and people will shout at me ... (but I'm willing to give it a go if enough people want to participate and nobody else wants to organise it.)

Well, if Darth's Mum enjoys it... I think she deserves a little fun after all the infection troubles she's been through lately!   ;D  (A poor excuse being better than none.)  And I promise not to yell at Poppy or whoever organizes it!   :angel;

Organizing Secret Santa
Collect names from the pople who want to participate.
Set a firm cut off date for accepting names.
Use last year's rules.
Match people by pulling names out of a hat.
Send names to Secret Santas with addresses.
Set a date for packages to go out by.
Monitor who gets a package and who does not.
Nag people to send things out early.
Nag anyone who has not sent their package out by the date due.
If someone does not get a Secret Santa package, you will fill in with something to them.

I have had to spend money on three Secret Santa packages not including my own secret santa, because someone did not send a package.

Don't you just LOVE spell check, Kit?

I would volunteer to organize, but I have been VERY wiped out by Lyme disease and may not be up to speed any time soon.

Too many fingers in the pie confuse the issue for secret Santa.  Besides the one in charge sometimes has to be really strong to get people to send packages.

Okay, I would be happy(ish) to do it.  I assume I still get to play even though I know who my SS is?!

My only issue is that being in the UK I'd have to be really strict (and probably request Naughty Lists off KitKatz and Rerun of those who didn't/forgot to send out packages in past years and tell them, 'Oi! No!') because anybody who didn't get a pressie probably wouldn't end up getting one till Valentine's Day (what with most other people being on the wrong side of the pond to me.)

KitKatz, if you're happy for me to take on the responsibility can you PM me and I'll get the ball rolling.
