Hello again!

I am back, and Sal is doing very well.

I'm not sure where this goes, but since you guys have been so helpful for Sal &I in the past, I have come with another question.

A friend of mine who lives in another state lost his kidneys and at this point, he isn't sure if he is on the donor list or not. Since Sal is better, and we have other people who could donate to him, I am heavily, heavily considering donating to my friend, if we are a match. He's going to have a PD put in while his Fistula matures, and from there, I'm not sure what all is in the works....

What all comes with donating? Even if I can't donate, I have lots of people willing to donate one to him.

What are the stipulations? Will it require going back on the renal diet? What if I don't have insurance?

Lots more questions circling through my head right now. Thanks in advance!  :thx;

First your friend needs to find out if he is on the list.  I suspect that if he "doesn't know"..... then he is not.  He needs to contact his Kidney doctor  and ask about being listed and tell his doctor that he has a possible Live donor.

You are great for wanting to do this.

Read more on this site.  Edicaution is your friend.  Ignorance is not a defence.

There are about a bizillion steps between now and donating. Rerun is right. Your friend needs to find out if he is even eligible for a transplant.
