Just started dialysis on May 1st and got a call about 12 today from the Transplant center.  :bandance; I told them I am feeling great and no infections. Waiting for them to call me back and let me know if the crossmatch is good and if I get it. I am so so scared, happy, nervous, sad, and worried. Sitting here watching the telephone.

Still waiting. The call came 6 hours ago. How long is it normally between calls? I just did some mopping to get rid of my nervous energy.
After writing the above I finally got a call. They still don't know. They haven't taken the organs yet from the donor. She said for me to not eat or drink after midnight and she is calling the dialysis center to see if they can get me in any earlier than my appt. at 2:30 tomorrow so I can get that done. She is going to call me in the morning and let me know more. So much for sleeping tonight!!

I remember that wait!  They didn't call me back for something like 11 hours.  Hang in there!

It has now been 33 hours and 5 phone calls. The kidneys have been romoved from the donor  :( and so far everything is good. A few more tests and the next phone call should say if I need to head for Charleston. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

Sorry I didn't write for a while. On Saturday morning they called me to tell me the kidney was not functioning properly. I was sad about that, but happy that one of the kidneys was transplanted that morning. I am doing fine with dialysis, I like my center and staff and the patients, who on my first treatment day were so scary and sick looking, I now joke with and have fun.  :) Not gonna give up hope because I know my kidney will come but for now I am good. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
