I got my call on Tues morning. Transplant started at 2 pm Tues. I'm still in the hospital. This is my second transplant so it feels a little rough. They're giving me thymo-glomulin (sp?) and it's tough. But maybe on Sun I can go home. I wasn't expecting a call for about 1 1/2 yrs yet. Still in shock. But happy.

My incision is hurting of course. And I hate the damn foley. But the docs say my creatinine went from 10 to 5 to 1.9 which is great.

My internet access is sporadic here at the hospital but I'll check back in when I can.

Well congrats on the transplant.
The thermoglobulin (sp?) I had also and had to have home infusion of it also after my tx. Hope you do not have to do that.

Fabulous, Jeannea! Wow, just last Tuesday! You're doing better than I did with my second transplant. I couldn't even face typing on a computer or talking on a phone until a couple weeks had gone by. You'll get there!

Looking forward to following your second transplant adventure, though I hope it's a boring read if you get my meaning. :)

I finally got to come home yesterday which was a week in the hospital. They didn't totally close my wound so my mom has to bandage it. We're still working on Prograf levels. But home is so nice. I had a shower. My mom cooks for me. I'm still in a little bit of shock that I actually got a kidney. But it's all good.

That's so wonderful to hear, jeannea!  I'm really thrilled for you!  Do you feel a real difference now that you have a new kidney?  Is there a noticeable improvement??  I can't wait to hear more!

So I got a call. My Prograf level is about 3 times too high - through the roof. I'm not to take any til they tell me and I have to get a bunch of blood tests.

In good news my incision is starting to heal. The doc left it open. PD patients sometimes have too much fluid in the cells and that has to be allowed to leak out as it heals. Gross. My mom is really good about helping with the bandages. I haven't looked at it. Can't.

Congratulations on your new kidney, and I hope you do well with it, and heal up quickly from surgery.  Have a baked potato and full glass of orange juice for me....but not together, yuck!
