I normally have a lot of trust for the employess where i dialysis, but today i think i lost a tiny bit of trust...

 i took a nap at d, as usual, and had them put me down low, to take some of the pressure of my butt, my tail bone was killing me, since i had d last night to make up for sat. anyway,  i fell asleep, and when woke up, asked if i can sit up some, keep my legs up but just lift the back back up, she said my bp looked fine so she lifted me, and i immediately felt sick, i said oh nooo, i laid back and said, im pretty sure my bp dropped, she said It just took and looked fine, i said yes but now its not! so she trieeeeeed to take it, but the damn thing wouldnt take and i couldnt see straight i started sweating, then i threw up all over myself so she gave me fluid, then it finally registered at 108/53, i was so scared because she didnt believe me, she was waiting for the darn thing to give her a pressure before she did anything, i was begging for help, i was so scared!
I am embarrassed having thrown up all over everything, im angry that she didnt want to believe me, and i really dont think it would have gotten that bad had she just trusted that I know my body! I had to drive home 30 miles with vomit covered clothing...
i had to come off though, i couldnt stand sitting there another 45 mins with puke all over me....plus the drive home, ugh!
those chairs are so uncomfortable, i laid back because my tail bone was killing me (it still hurts too lol) i have a huge tailbone and there was a hump right in the area i had to sit and i just wanted to be comfortable.
am i wrong here? i mean, this was my bp, im not crazy, but they didnt believe me and since that stupid mechanical cuff didnt register it just kept inflating repeatedly not giving a reading...
im so frustrated right now

I would be very upset with that staff member and I would report them to the faculty administrator.  They should have trust your intuition and at the very least err in the side of caution and given you a saline bolus.  At the very worst, they would have prevent your BP from crashing.  At the very best, you would have some extra fluid that they could try to remove safely before your treatment end and remove the rest at your next D.  I would be making some noise.

Hope you feel better gothiclovemonkey   :cuddle;

Report that person to the clinical manager, goth, now that you're cleaned up and calmed down.  It's dangerous and unthinkable that she ignored your obvious distress and DIDN'T DO HER JOB!  She needs to be retrained...

What is it with these kidney centers where they ignore patients?   At my center the nurses all help each other out.   They're all busy, but they work hard, and get it done.  And they're fun, too, even when they make mistakes, you know they're doing their best. :secret;

this is the first time ive ever felt this way about this clinic...
My last clinic was like this, i stopped going to treatment all together... after a while of skipping here and there weekly i ended up skipping for 2 weeks straight, and it was bad... thats how i ended up where i am now.  i have felt nothing but safe with them, but there are new people and this particular one doesnt seem to care or something. Maaybe she feels she has to do something 'by the book' but ive had two techs tell me that they go by what they see not by that damn cuff that doesnt hardly work...
i dont like not feeling safe... that scares that crap out of me.

What is the big deal about giving some saline anyway?

It must have been terrible; I have really low BP, and have learned from experience that it drops extremely FAST, and the only way to register it is by those very symptoms you describe.  She neglected her responsibility to simply listen to what you were saying....  Hopefully it is just her, and not a general trend - I have generally found that most of the staff are very sensitive to patient's descriptions of their symptoms etc - we also have those occasional exceptions, and they are the utter worst to have to deal with.  Would I have been upset?  OH YES!!!!  I would have been wild...

Even if you have lots of fluid to take off, it needs time to shift from your tissue to your blood stream so it can be removed.  Next time tell her to shut off your UF (fluid pull)  and then if you still feel ill (like sweating) tell her to give you 100 of saline.  Tell her to shut off your UF and then she can take your BP.  With her fiddling around you were still getting fluid pull.  CRASH

I'd just talk with her.  Say," so if you don't want me to puke all over today.  Listen to me.  When I say I'm ill you better believe me."  See how she acts.  And go from there.

Sorry this happened to you.
