One day i want to be the person my dog thinks i am

Hi everyone,
i am a female,married for 22 years,2 children and 4 grandchildren.We live in Port Charlotte Fl.We have 2 austrailan shephards,Emma & Luka. I am so glad i found your site.
i am not on dialysis yet but i needed to find you all before i get there, definitely need support!.i am end stage and waiting.Thats my story short and sweet.

Just like me Sky...I call myself "Pre, Pre "D".  I came earlier than some so I can learn, stay updated and just be among people who are, where I am headed.  Congrats on finding us...

IHD has kept me sane thhrough the pre-D, the D (PD) and now a transplant. I love IHD. You will too. Again,  :welcomesign;

Welcome to our community, Skydog!  This is the best place for you to be - here you will find information, support and encouragement.  I am so thankful that I found IHD just before I started dialysis.  You will soon find that you have a genuine family here  :grouphug; - a wonderful group of sharing and caring people.

Diabetes -  age 7

Neuropathy in legs age 10

Eye impairments and blindness in one eye began in 95, major one during visit to the Indy 500 race of that year
   -glaucoma and surgery for that
     -cataract surgery twice on same eye (2000 - 2002). another one growing in good eye
     - vitrectomy in good eye post tx November 2003, totally blind for 4 months due to complications with meds and infection

Diagnosed with ESRD June 29, 1999
1st Dialysis - July 4, 1999
Last Dialysis - December 2, 2000

Kidney and Pancreas Transplant - December 3, 2000

Cataract Surgery on good eye - June 24, 2009
Knee Surgery 2010
2011/2012 in process of getting a guide dog
Guide Dog Training begins July 2, 2012 in NY
Guide Dog by end of July 2012
Next eye surgery late 2012 or 2013 if I feel like it
Home with Guide dog - July 27, 2012
Knee Surgery #2 - Oct 15, 2012
Eye Surgery - Nov 2012

35 years old, first dx w/  chronic renal insufficiency at  28, pre-dialysis

born with persistent cloaca--have you heard of it?  Probably not, that's ok.

lots of surgeries, solitary left kidney (congenital)

chronic uti's/pyelonephritis

Welcome. Skydog, i hope you find lots of info that you need to know, I started PD in mid-December and would be happy to help you with any questions you may have, as would anyone else on this site. They truly are a wonderful resource.
