 :bandance;  :bandance;  :bandance;  :flower;  UPDATE!!!! So thanks to you guys advice and everyone who was cheesed off bc my husband "eye" appointment was cancelled. This morning (while hubby was in surgery) I went to optomology I tried to see the nurse who was suppose to call to see if they can push up his appointment, however this department is in the basement which means no cell phone reception and I wanted to be in the waiting room area where his surgery was taken place. So I left but in the words of Arnold...I"ll be back! So I left went back to the surgery waiting room and vowed to call when I knew hubbs was going to be ok.  A little while later after I saw hubby high on life with the wonderful morphine and knew he was ok, I called optomology again and left a message with the doctor who is suppose to do the procedure. I figured I wasn't going to stop there so later on I called again. This time I got a person explained to her the whole situation (I think they knew who I was) and they bumped up his appointment to this Friday at 3pm. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

UPDATE::: Hey all hope everything is well you. I have been MIA back and forth from the hospital and trying to fight off this nasty chest cold. Hubby got everything worked out. He got his stomach drained yesterday he had 9 liters of fluid in his stomach yikes!. He sounds so much better. Yesterday he had a eye consultation and the eye doctor said he has seen better but he certainly has seen worse, today he is going to drain the blood from his right eye and he is going to inject something in his eye. And next month he is going to work on his left eye. The doctor said is should start clearing up in about two to three weeks. I hope my hubby's sight does return. Oh and while he was at the hospital one if the dilaysis doctors did say that they also think that the bloating and his eye sight are related and as soon as he got all that fluid out of his system his sight should return again.   Thank you so much for beig there! Now just waiting for hubby to come home tommorrow, more than likely I will be at work. But it will be a nice surprise. :)

Hey all minor update hubbs had his eye surgery.I missed the eye doctor, but he said he had an anuysem in his right eye. As of right now he said he might get about 40% of his vision in his right eye. Basically he was told he will probably wiill not be able to read or see clear depending. The doctor put a injection shot in his left eye to stop the bleeding he wants to look at that eye ans dee if he can do a procedure on it. So right now things arent looking so great when it comes to his vision it reallys depends how his eye heals in two to three weeks, how do you come to terms with someone you love being partially blind? I'm sort of down but I'm trying to stay optimistic and see what happens. Anyone been through this before? Sigh..

Kris...not quite the same thing but similar...my hubby also has vision issues and the more fluid he is packing, the worse his vision is.  He is diabetic and has "diabetic retinopathy" and has had several procedures over the past couple of years to stop leaky blood vessels and try to improve his vision to a level we can live with.  As of right now, hubby can read with very strong reading glasses and is able to drive on days his vision is good.  For him, the key is fluid control.

I'll keep you and your hubs in my prayers.   :grouphug;

Okay! I had a feeling especially when it comes to the eyes he is going to be back and forth for awhile. THey got a lot of the blood out of his right eye or at least as much as he could. His left eye the doctor put an injection in his eye to stop the bleeding. Im going to wait and see how his eyes goes he comes home tonight. I'm feeling a little better today just had to revamp my thinking.  Were in Los Angeles and I'm thinking of setting an appointment for hubbs with UCLA they have a wonderful eye program and I think I will talk to him about it after he gets settled after a few days. Thank you for your stories and sharing what you know I know I'm not alone.

Like Looney, my husband has diabetic retinopathy. He is visually impaired in both eyes, but can see slightly.  He stopped driving long ago.  As long as they are in their surroundings where they are familiar with what is there, they can do amazingly well.

Diabeties is the cause of all his problems.  He never knew he was a diabetic till he lost practically everything!

So the doctor made a follow up appointment for my hubby for Monday he is he put some type of oil in his eye which is like a gel. He probably will drain more blood out of his eye. The doctor said that my he will need catarac surgery eventually. The left eye hasn't really been touched yet and I get the feeling were just really getting started on his eyes. I think what bothers me in some ways in that the eye sat there full of blood which did more damage to his eye if I really didnt push for him to see anyone no telling what would have happened. I told hubbs to get his eyes looked eye and he didn't get around to it and now here he are I hate saying it but I sort of resent it because now there is more pressure on me. I hate to say I told you so and now I know I dont have to. Sigh I'm really trying to be positive and Im really not sure how much more I can take of his health it has been a long four years, and a longer marriage and getting hit with all this and were barely married two years is to say the least... a lot...The other good news is that they cut down his blood pressure medicine by half. And he can have a little bit of dairy. His kidney doctor works with his in center so she already sch him to have in center dialysis for the next two to three months. She wants to see how is vision is going to be. He has a great Kidney doctor. So there are a lot of good things there.

Krismino, hubby was 8 weeks complaining to doctors that he couldn't see and nobody would listen to him!!!  Finally when he saw an opthamologist it was almost too late.  Luckily he did get his site back except for scarring in one eye.  He can see fine with both eyes open but when he closes one eye he says he has too look around the scaring.

Kidney disease is very demanding.  I knew hubby had kidney issues when we married but kidney failure of dialysis was not even thought about. We were married for about 10 years when he first saw a nephrologist and she blew the 2 of us away buy telling us that in 2 -10 years he would need dialysis or a transplant.  He was lucky it was ten years before he needed dialysis!!  It is not easy at all.  Hubby does all his own pushing so I don't need too.   Hubby has no other health problems though - just the kidney failure.

Sorry, Kriss, Ive been out of pocket for a few days.  Work is flourishing now and I love it, but it requires alot of my time.  So what was this "gel" they put on your husbands eye?  Has it helped in any way?

I know this stuff "poops" the big time, but I think we all do quite well all things considering.  We havent walked away, have we? I mean come on, we may think about it, but we dont!  I know they cant help this, but I also think that they understand our frustrations.  I certainly don't want what they have, so I consider myself very lucky.

There are people on this very site, that are alone in all this.  So, yes, I consider we are blessed to at least have each other!

God Bless,

VERY VERY True muchkin!! UPDATE: So we had the follow up appointment today. The eye DOC (This is the first time we have spoken). Said my husband had a rear case happen and he had the anyrism and it busted and he saw so much blood it was sthe most he has ever seen in his career. He cut out the anurism out his right eye, and cleared up as much blood as he could during the surgery. When he looked at it today he said that his right eye is doing healing much better than he expected it to. And it looks really good. He also cut down the some of the drops he was taking from 3 different types of drops to one bottle.

As for his left eye it looks pretty good, he put an injection in it to stop the bleeding. He said it will take 4-6 weeks for it to work. His left eye has way more promise than his right, but he is still working on the right, as of right now he is giving it time to heal and at a later time he might go back and drain the rest of the blood in there. His left eye has a normal hemorage. And he schedule a laser treatment for his left eye, the doctor was stern but also optomistic that he will be able to read and drive from his left eye. He is waiting for the blood to clear up on it's own if he doesn't he is going in and try to manually drain the blood. The good thing about both his eyes is that (Doc) can actually see clear in both of them.  So how I look at it is one eye is doing better than the other and at least it wont mean he will not see at all. So all in all a really really good day to hear such good news and all his other recovery is doing great. :) Thank you for all the prayers and support.
