I can't believe I forgot to mention dog obedience. I haven't done it for some years now, but it was definitely one of my hobbies a few years ago, and I do want to return to it after my transplant. Trouble is, the clubs tend to break up over summer months. And getting me out of the house in winter months is a bit of a struggle.

Adam,
Awesome models man!  I have been wanting to give building a try myself so I may send you a PM with some questions if that would be ok?
That would be ok, ask away. I'll do my best to answer what ever you ask. I've been building models for as long as I remember, so I've got some decent experience.

Even more models. Man! I'm going to run out of space if I keep this up.

First is a couple pics of the model I just finished, the RMS Mauretania. It was the biggest passenger liner in world until the Titanic and Olympic were built.

My current project: RMS Queen Mary 2. Currently the longest, tallest, widest, and heaviest liner ever built. It is about 400 feet longer than the Titanic. The model itself is almost three feet long, making it my largest ship model ever.

Here is a pic of a ship's wheel hubby made for our boat.  It is made from solid oak. Also a pic of hubby relaxing after he completed our sunroom.  Before any blinds or curtains were put up.  And a pic of some of my flower beds. It is not my house in the pic.  I did not know how to make them smaller!!

My all time favorite hobbies are photography and writing and until I started grad school back in Fall of 06, I was working on a thriller novel....

Here is a sample of my photography......

http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b83/ginskia/?action=view&current=DSCN0153.jpg&slideshow=true&interval=3
the only pic there I didn't take is one of Tweetybird.......

I also love reading, movies, crafts, and gardening.......

Now since hobbies are mainly defined as how we spend our free time, my latest hobbies are computer, reading about medical information and kidney disease....I also collect kidney friendly recipes now and cook a lot for my husband......

I also enjoy PSP and I plan to get back into it as well as my photography and my novel.......

Now Mikes hobbies are the TV, politics, news, current events, sports, anything related to the military, and sometimes movies......he also likes to do artwork sometimes.....

I am still scratching my head in wonder at the models done while in center while on dialysis!  You must have tremendous patience to work in your lap in such close quarters and do such a nice job! My hat is off to you!

I have also started gardening, mostly flowers.

And while I'm on home dialysis I've been playing everquest (an online role playing game). Needless to say, I get alot of game time. Why does dialysis have to totally suck? heh At least I get to look forward to playing while I'm on. My wife wont let me play video games any other time!

Not long now until I play guitar and keyboard in the Musical '8 Miles High. It's about a group of young people in the audience of a rock concert in the summer of 69 somewhere in England.  I'll post pictures which I'll get taken at the dress rehearsal. I've not seen our (the band) costumes yet but I've told the wardrobe lady I want a braided cavalry jacket similar to the one often worn by Jimi Hendrix,
ridiculously flared pants and big big hair!, which will be a bit of a bonus considering I'm nearly bald! This is probably my last chance to re-live my youth 'cause I was there the first time round. (Sad or what?)  :beer1; :beer1;

EDITED: Fixed bold prompt - Sluff/ Admin

Well here's some pics of the band from the show taken during dress rehearsal. I did'nt get my cavalry jacket as planned  but I think I just about look the part. The pic with just me and the bass player and drummer (hidden) was taken during Voodoo Chile, the reason I know is because it's the only song in the show where we play as a three piece only. We all had a great time over the three nights it was performed and we completely rocked our balls off.

SO BEHOLD!! A FAILED ROCK ICON!!! O0

Oh by the way I thought I'd include a pic of what I really look like. Maybe I should wear the disguise all the time lol

Here is the Queen Mary 2 model almost complete. I still have all the railing, two small stacks just behind the large one, the mast/radar towers, and two cargo cranes on the forward deck. I'll probably have it done in another couple weeks (this is sure keeping me busy for a while). The last picture is the model sitting next to a dialyzer for a comparison of size (the model is just under three feet long.

Hey Jaybird - fantastic pastime, so satisfying! My husband like to garden, and I enjoy the results. I believe you said you were facing a transplant soon? After the transplant, you must wear gloves and a mask when gardening due to the immunosuppressant drugs, and possible bacteria in the potting soils etc. But there's nothing to stop you from continuing the hobby!

You and one of my uncles would get along great.  He has been into Ham radio since before I was born, so it's probably going on 40 years.  Not sure of his handle though.  His whole family gets into it (Wife, Son, Daughter), belong to a club, and go to the swap meet/conventions.

Ok, here is an update....no hobbies nor anything lately nor even the last several months.....I cannot focus on anything lately......when my coursework starts, then I won't even have the time......for a year, I use to blog for a second income and that was fun but they made their new rules very strict like putting two non-work related posts between their client related posts....afraid I cannot do that since my blogs all have to be ad blogs and I only want to do it for money.....now if they offered to pay more than they did, maybe I would consider that stringent requirement.....after all writing is very time consuming....also one needs a lot of motivation to write and blogging can take all the energy out of a person like it did me.....when Big Brother starts maybe I can put that in there...let's see since BB will take up my time...I may get the feeds this year....

I have one goal now and that is to not only clean house but to give a thorough scubdown and organize each and every sheet of paper.......
