 :welcomesign; As some others have said don't let dialysis control your life.  Hubby feels so good and has so much energy that he sometimes feels like he doesn't need dialysis but he wouldn't feel that way for long without treatments.  Accept it a spart of your life.  Just an inconvenience in the other things going on in your life.  Watch your diet and fluid is the main thing.

Do you have the opportunity there to use the NxStage home machine? Its Hemo dialysis at home. I am currently in training but my machine comes home this Friday and I will be free to do everything on my own. My fiscula is in my leg, stronger viens = a longer fiscula life. On the home machine you only have to dialize for 2 - 3 hours at a time. Its great compared to everything I have heard about all the other alternatives.
