my name is Avi, I live in Israel, I am from NYC originally.

I am 42 years old and I have spina bifida and a neurogenic bladder, my kidney quit about 5 years ago and I was on dialysis for about a year. I then got a transplant, and that worked for about 3 years. I have been back on dialysis for about 7 months, I stopped making urine about a week ago so I am now having to watch my fluids and go 3 times a week.

My wife found this site for me, So here I am.

The lord knows I hate dialysis!

I'm sure the Lord knows you hate dialysis, but I'm hoping that He will find you a new kidney! :2thumbsup;  In the meantime, Lord knows that this site may be of great help to you, and the Lord also knows that your wife is very smart to guide you here.

There are other members who have been through what you are going through now, and there will be others who may be in your shoes in the not too distant future.  I know you will have valuable experience to share.  Thank you so much for joining.

Hi Avi, and welcome to IHD.  I would be interested on how you do dialysis in Israel.  How long do you run per session?  Do they have home dialysis available?  Can't wait to hear how you are doing.  Keep reading and posting.
