I am on PD and creatinine levels are above 1300... They're running tests etc but the nurse said today it might be due to being active/mobile

Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you been doing "strenuous" exercise? If so, that CAN cause your creatinine to rise temporarily.

Apparently not drinking a lot of water (being dehydrated) can even cause creatinine levels to increase too.

how long have you been on pd ?

is this the first time your creatine levels are that high ?

not to alarm you, but starting last year (around sept - oct) my creatine levels were creeping up towards the high side (i was on pd, cycler), then in mid - late march of this year, they told me with a creatine level of around 1000, my membrane gave up the ghost.  My nephorlogist jokes "people with 1000 creatine level, i would strongly recommend dialysis, but you're already on dialysis !"

I hope it is just a blip and things go back to normal for you.

Maybe my doctors are crazy, but I was told by two nephrologists independently that my creatinine level didn't matter once I started dialysis as long as all the other numbers were OK. When going over my labs each month my current neph doesn't even mention my creatinine level...

Thanks for all your replies.

Got my PET test results back and am a low transporter. I'm dialysing at around 75% (apparently as long as its above 60% we're good...)

Who knows...

I believe this because my creatinine level has been as high as 17! Yikes.
I know. I am not a big person. I am only 4'11". I do have a problem with being dehydrated on PD.
