I had a message from one of my sisters this morning that the donor coordinator told her the either of my sisters can be my donor, but that they'd prefer to use my older sister. I think that means they've decided both of my sisters are matches for me. I haven't heard the news from the transplant center myself yet, but it sounds very positive. I imagine they'll wait to talk to both of my sisters to make sure they're both still interested in donating before they give me the news. Now if only my sister is also CMV-  I know that's too much to hope for, but I can dream, right?

Congrats!!!!  The next step is surgery!!!!!!  You should get a call from your coordinator to set you up for a surgery date.  My donor was notified first, me last.  AWSOME NEWS!!!!

I just got a call from the donor coordinator asking me to come in to give another blood sample. I'm not ready to set up a surgery date yet. I have too much to get done to the house first. I need to get a guest room ready, which means buying furniture, getting someone to finish painting and installing baseboards, putting the toilet back in (it's sitting in the bathtub), etc. I have to get my rear in gear.

Get that date, Deanne!  If that Extreme Home Makeover show can build a whole house in a week, you can get the refinishing done in time!

Thanks all! I think I'll call a contractor next week to have him finish the trimwork. Once that's done, I can get the room furnished. I'm too busy with outside work this time of year to handle it myself.

Wonderful news, Deanne. And yes, please hire people to help wherever you need it. You are not only bringing yourself that much closer to a (preemptive?) transplant, you are giving work opportunities to others. I hope you find some reliable help and get that date. I will remember the feeling of getting my date (and then receiving my second, closer date) for the rest of my life. With everyone else, I am here, wishing you luck, wishing we were closer so I could help, and looking forward to hearing all of your updates. :bestwishes;
