I would burn that bridge.

I recall a friend of mine, who works in a law office, one of their clients put something in their will that stated if anyone in the family contested the will they would forfit anything and everything that was left to them in the will.
Sounds like a good idea.  ;D

This is what money can do to people.  when I went to a lawyer about our family property, he told me a story to show how people can be.  There was this man who already had a very nice house in a great area totally paid off.  He was retired, but still had another job.  He was childless and his wife was also working.  Some family property came up and he was fighting against a cousin who was renting and had children!  I could not imagine how someone with a conscience could do that. What did he want the property for?

I am with those who say that you should still send him a card and any other courtesy to which you were accustomed.
