ok, they had their labs, did the eval, they are both young, strong, healthy no worries of any medical problems.
they went with us to eval and spoke with doc, nurse, social worker, all that. niether smoke or drink, finance is obsessed with health.
help me out yall, what comes next? hubby is A+, they are both O+. all have CMV positive.
what else to do? 24 hr urine, ekg, xray, ultrasound of kidney?

heres the twist, they live ONE MILE from the transplant center..LOL

should add too: hubby had colonoscopy and nuclear stress test this past 2 weeks and they were perfect.
he is down to one small dose of coreg twice a day.

Yes, probably all of those. The centre is going to tell you what they require to have one of them medically cleared for transplant. O+ can donate to any blood group, so as long as the crossmatch is negative for both (and it should be unless your husband has had transfusions in the past) then daughter and fiance might want to discuss with each other who would be the preferable donor. They will almost certainly only go forward with one of them from here, test until they are cleared or excluded, and then move on to the other if necessary. Does your daughter have kids? She will likely be the better antigen match, but if they want to have (more) children, the fiance would be the safer option. Women can definitely have children after donating, but there is always that possibility that some complication will arise that will delay or prevent this. Not so big a risk with men.

Great news, and good luck to all.  :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Yes, ultrasound, ekg, chest xray I think, that's what Jenna's donor had after the tissue matching stuff.
Good luck! I hope all goes well!! :clap; :clap; :clap;

i'm sorry to sound so goofy! LOL thank you so much.
ok, the crossmatch for both was negative. all have CMV positive (including husband).
no bad health, no bad history. both are slim and trim and very healthy.
i told hubby he just won the lottery!

this is too funny, right at the same time we got this call, i was secretly waiting the last 7 mins on an ebay bid for a laptop for my huby for his brithday which is the 28th. i won! when i paid, i sent note to seller of the good news..
ok, i know.. :yahoo;

this is my daughters stepdad, no blood match. his own 5 kids never even asked, though we supplied the donor nurse number.
they aren't married yet, no kids. taking college courses off and on and working. i too am thinking the young man is best, and he said same thing.

How wonderful!  You really deserve a break, and so does your hubby (is his birthday July 28?  So is mine!).  I can't wait to hear more good news from you!
