I just got over pancreatitis from last month. I was advised that I have a 2.2 cm mass growing on my right kidney. I saw the urologist who told me based on my history it is probably kidney cancer. The next step is for the surgeon to speak to my general practitioner and neph about the benefits/risks of a partial nephrectomy vs. a radical nephrectomy.
I feel overwhelmed by all of this news. If they do the radical nephrectomy, I will have no kidneys and absolutely no kidney function.
I just wanted to vent... so thanks for reading.

12/12 Whipple, mass on pancreas confirmed as renal cell carcinoma

Mikey, I'm so so sad to read this news. I'm thinking of you and only wish that that helped in any way at all.

Mikey, so very sorry, it's awful news. Will they biopsy first? I hope you get some answers soon.

Wow, shocking and overwhelming to say the least. If it does require the nephrectomy, you may want to read Bill Peckham's experiences with kidney cancer and nephrectomy. I am sure there would be loads of helpful information there, and may alleviate some of the fear as well.
So sorry this has come up, Mikey. You are in my thoughts.

May I ask, what is it about your history that makes the doc suspect it is cancer? Apologies for my ignorance.
I imagine you felt the world just stop when you heard that news.
