HOLA from New Mexico

Hola from New Mexico!! At the age of 21 I had a bicycle accident that landed me in the hospital. I had a renal biopsy an when given the results was told I had 6 months to a year to live. That was back in
1984
!!! Here I am now at 48 and the first part of this year my wonderful nephrologist told me that we would be looking at approximately 1 to 2 years before going on dialysis. Well...needless to say the time has moved up to sooner than later!! I am going in for vein mapping on Friday, July 8th, and yes, I am nervous and try to put up a good front. I have been married for the last 11 years to a wonderful man named Domonic!!! He attends all my appointments with me and keeps me going!! I hope to make many new friends on this site! From what I have seen/read ya'll are an AWESOME bunch!!! Can't wait to make your acquaintance!! So pull up a chair and grab your cup of ice and sit a spell!! Happy fourth of July everyone!!

Sorry,
The text of my post dissappeared. What I meant to say was welcome. There is abundant information and understanding here. Just about everything that can happen kidney failurewise, someone here has been through it
and can help someone else through the experience.

Yep, you have come to a good place for support and information.
I understand about dialysis coming sooner rather than later. Even when you have plenty of warning, it still seems a shock.
Hugs.
