Unbelievable touching…

I remember very clearly a couple of nights ago when I 1st come across the site name ‘I hate dialysis.com’, the first thing that came to my mind is “ahaa… this is another ‘opposition party website’ which will most probably be full of negativeness” and I really have to check it out just for the amusement as it will be interesting to once in a while read the politics of back-stabbing, screaming at conventional treatments etc… Not until I sign up last night and took some time off to read the posts carefully, only did I realize how my earlier assumption has been so wrong! To my astonishment, the marvelous people here are not the least after each others’ throats; either do they curse the ruling party of the day, or spitting at the government for not doing enough etc… These humble yet bighearted god send individuals I find in this website are actually helping one another by lending moral support, exchanging valuable information, a passionate shoulder to lean on and genuine attentive ears - especially to the newbies. Two thumbs up for you great guys!!! Tears gathered at the corner of my eyes even for a grownup man like me as I read some of the replies and posts - they are not only encouraging, some are even very motivating too… It’s really very unbelievable touching to apprehend that strangers will welcome a newbie with such genuine open arms through spontaneous, heartening and inspiring remarks
I am not on dialysis now either am I suffering from any malfunctions of my kidneys at this time but I would like to learn more about dialysis and its treatments as well as kidney transplants as one will never know what will happen tomorrow. I may seem to be enjoying generally good health now, but it doesn’t mean I will not be afflicted with kidney disorders or any other degenerative ailments forever. On the other hand, I want to keep people informed of the potential of one developing kidney failures amongst diabetics and those with hypertension should they not take seriously about their current health. I am sort of scared myself because I am a type 2 diabetic since my late teens. I find this website extremely educational too besides being uplifting and I will certainly invite many others to join this excellent site for enriching their knowledge, particularly those who are at risk of predialysis
I would like to thank and praise all the really nice and caring people here taking the effort and valuable time for all the sweet ‘hellos’ as you welcome newbies to the site even though you or perhaps your loved ones maybe agonizing from kidney failure too and yet you remain so ever strong and positively charged to brighten up someone’s day… And for the courageous dialysis patients, do stick around as you march down this road and I salute you for your guts to face the world with failing kidneys. Never for a second think that it’s the end of the world with failed kidneys, but look at the bright side of it, congratulate yourself that it’s a ‘blessing in disguise’ you have found this wonderful site which is filled with a bunch of so very loving, supportive and helpful community eagerly awaiting to fellowship with you anytime
Cheers & best regards

Thank you Kenzie, for all you kind words. The founder of the site wanted the name for shock value, to get your attention. We quickly become family and really do care how each one is doing. The members have helped me from 1st diagnosis through to the recent transplant -- 6 years of helping to hold me up and get through each step. I love them all.
You fit right in! Welcome home!!

Yes, we clearly can hate dialysis but love one another and help each other through the maze of kidney failure. I have gained so much being a part of this community!

You are most welcome Paris. Those words are genuinely uttered from my heart; from the deepest... I just can’t see such a good deed by you guys go unnoticed. Even though you are afflicted with such an appalling disease and yet you can still find the courage to inspire others - that’s just plain overwhelming courageous to me. We should also be very thankful to the founder of ‘I hate dialysis’ for coming up with such a great idea to establish this website - it not only gives hope to the hopeless but make the less fortunate feel they are not alone in the rough road to the unknown
At times I put myself in the shoes of a dialysis patient, I can really feel the deepest anguish a kidney failure patient goes through - not only the agony of going through a troublesome thrice-weekly dialysis (for a lifetime unless via transplant) but also the seemingly disgusting special diet and the tortures in the patient’s mind - frequently questioning himself on quality of life. I have always been very scared of needles my whole life; thinking of poking needles into my arms on every alternate days just to cleanse my blood by a machine is unthinkable. I salute you for going through this painful procedure for the past 6 years Paris!!! I don’t know what words to describe for those who have been doing this procedure for the past 10, 20 years to keep themselves alive. Truly, your sufferings and all those who are doing dialysis is with me too though we are thousands of miles apart and may never meet but I share the same pain with you on alternate days as you journey to the haemodialysis machine... Even though I am totally new here, this site is quickly becoming my ‘2nd home’ although I am clear of kidney problem at this time. This awesome community here is just worth ALL the salutation and commend. You take care now Paris and thanks for a warm welcome too...

Hello Boswife... Thank you for taking the trouble to welcome me. You should be very proud of yourself as you are one tough lady and my heart not only goes out to you but also to your hubby and the rest of the family too. Send my warmest regards to him too wont you? Common sense will tell us that the whole household is also significantly affected, both emotionally and mentally when someone fall so sick. It’s a endless nightmare haunting everyone on when a donor will avail and whether it matches or not. Correct me if I am wrong, but I do believe that it’s no easy task being a caregiver - especially when the patient happens to be one’s husband; there must have been real tough times when the patient gets over depressed and can’t cope with his stressful situation or misses the ‘good old days’ when he enjoys perfect kidney health. If there are such times, please think of me, I am all ears; anytime, any day... Vent on me if it makes you feel better, scream at me if it helps, chat with me if you must... Though we have to admit that the journey ahead is no bed of roses but knowing that someone as far away as Malaysia is always more than keen to listen to you and for you to expel will brighten your day
Well said Boswife, even though I am not a dialysis patient, I can clearly see the enormous support and genuine care everyone is offering to each other - come to think of it, I wonder whether I really fit into this site because I am not a patient and neither anyone of my loved ones are suffering from chronic kidney diseases? I am just trying to lighten up the day for everyone; be they patients or caregivers. God is our refuge, and if I may quote the following popular verse from Matthew 7:7 - 8 “Ask and it will be GIVEN to you; Seek and you will FIND; Knock and it will OPEN to you. For everyone who asks RECEIVES and who seeks FINDS, and to him who KNOCKS, the door will be OPENED”... I hope the verses helps and may the peace of God be with you

Hello WishIKnew, thanks for the welcome. Nobody ‘love’ dialysis; everybody in their sane mind obviously hates it as the site name implies though its life-saving at the same time. Being new here, I find out that everyone in here is so nice and sweet to each other that compels me to introduce this site to everyone whether they are enjoying excellent health or otherwise. Can anyone disagree with me that the quote of “Health is wealth” isn’t most accurate? It’s the love for mankind that initiates this website to be published online where the sick and strangers come in and are readily accepted into this loving community as a big family. I count myself lucky to have hit the right button to join a marvellous website and befriended such amazing individuals like u guys even though I am in good health... Thanks again for the welcome WishIKnew and I wish you all the best
