I definitely want to hear more about your experiences.  You have lived with this a long time.  Those of us who are just beginning dialysis need role models to look up to.  Thanks for joining!

Thank you all.  Appreciate all the kind words of encouragement.  The first time I was ever dialyzed was 7/17/1976.  Fortunately the renal function recovered to a point I didn't have to dialyze on a chronic basis for another 4 more years.  Started n-center hemodialysis from May 80' through March 82'.  Tried CAPD for about 6 months (miserable failure).  Back to hemo from September 82' to June 83'.  Lived with a real gift of a transplanted kidney for 23 years.  Back to hemodialysis from last July.  That's it folks.

CAPD used to be so much different back then. Like you used to have to wrap the bag with the tubing around you instead of disconnecting it I was told when I started CAPD in 1990. I look forward to ALL your stories as you sure must have a lot of first hand experience! I am very interested in them all and hope you make a LOT of new posts on how dialysis used to be and how far it has come! ;)
