I seriously don't know what to say....when I read this post I got emotionally angry...she was less than a year older than me. Brings back into perspective how unfair this disease is.
RIP Karen, you are back with your mom now!

after I saw this I went to the gym as I was soooooo angry, don't know who's ass got kicked more the gym or mine. I am just sooooooo mad Karen and her family have been through so much yet she let nothing get in the way of her hopes and dreams. I am so tired of losing members on here and there's not a damn thing we can do about it, everyone outside here thinks once you get a kidney all is good and that at times so is not the case. Karen is another loss that just breaks my heart.....

I saw this yesterday  and  thought about this all night .....  So young....  This disease makes you think about life so much differently...   I was planning for retirment and what I would do when I go old.....   I am not old  but I am thinking that I need to get living life and go do the things that I want to while I can....  All of this makes me think that life is very short....   I am so sorry that this has happened...

I have avoided posting --- it is tragic, sad, unbelievable.  We had our transplants 3 weeks apart.  Why her?  I know there isn't an answer.  But she wanted a chance to be normal so much.  My heart aches for her family.  They must feel so lost.   Feeling anger is a good way to describe my feelings, too.   Transplants aren't a cure -- they are a good choice of treatment, but they come with their own set of risks.    I just want to hit something!!

We will not forget Karen and we will continue to fight this disease to honor Karen.  You were loved by many.

Such a nice girl she was, this is tragic news. Everyone can post here until I get a chance to add her to the memorial. I am going to be away for about a week so I will try and get this done before I go. Thanks Monrein for letting us know.

I am so sorry to hear this. Karen was such a wonderful girl with so much potential. I'd hoped her transplant would be her ticket forward. She was very brave considering all her family went through when her mom died of cancer and also dealing with kidney disease. I have children her age so her death seems so tragic.
