Great News About My Living Donor (My Husband)

My husband (my living donor) found out his GFR test results this morning and he found out he had a very rare GFR level-his was
191
!! His kidneys are quite strong and his transplant surgeon told him that he has a special set of kidneys that most people with
TWO
kidneys, don't even have the same function! We couldn't believe it! We are in a state of shock! Needless to say this doctor admitted in all his years as a doctor, he has never seen that before! LOL!
The "normal" GFR level for most people is 91.
We are in total shock about it (in a good way)

I would love to watch your creatinine levels drastically drop post transplant due to your husband's big fat kidney!

Girl meets boy with transplant, falls in love and then micromanages her way through the transplant and dialysis industry. Three years, two transplant centers and one NxStage machine later, boy gets a kidney at Johns Hopkins through a paired exchange two months after evaluation. Donated kidney in June and went back to work after ten days.
