Actually, in all seriousness simple mathematics dictates that our consumption of resources doubles at paces that "growth" simply cannot sustain. We will have some serious decisions to make with regards to our population not just as Americans but as a species facing finite resources and growing numbers of us. New mouths to feed, new technologies to fuel, new stories to tell...

What we will do will not just decide our future but, IF, we have a future.

Well all I can say is that I do believe in the "Holy Bible".  I do not want to be left behind and I do want Heaven (which we don't have an imaginable description of) and I do not want to go to HELL. The Bible is very descriptive about Hell. Lake of Fire and the ones who refused to believe will burn for eternity and will not be able to die. Burning in fire for eternity?  Whether YOU think the Bible is real or not, I ain't taking any chances. And I really have not hurt anyone by believing in what I believe now have I? Just because others do not believe the same does not bother me one bit. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.  It also does not bother me what people think of me either. Iam a Child of
God through Christ and am not ashamed to say it.

Yes God is all loving!  How many of you would give your son to die for me? No I don't believe Jesus is a myth!  I do believe He came in this world by a Virgin, lived among us and was crucified for our sins.  He rose again 3 days later and is now with his father in Heaven.

How do I know this?  Cause the Bible tells me so.  Remember, I said I Believe in the Holy Bible. Yes it is true, Rapture is not mentioned in the Bible, but Jesus coming down from the clouds and believers going up to meet him in the air, is!  This is what we believers look forward to!

I also believe that we are living in the end times, and know that generations before ours has said the same things. In saying that, I also know that I nor anyone else knows the hour the Lord comes back.  No One!  But I pray that I am doing what is required or is pleasing when that time comes. Even though Iam washed with the Blood of Christ and he has forgiven me of my sins, I'm still human and am in need of Forgiveness daily!

Guess I'm a Weirdo but I'm a SAVED ONE, thanks to JESUS who made it possible for me!!!!  And you, by the way, if you choose to believe it!

Still Love You all, regardless!

Oh, I hope there's little to offend anyone in this discussion of Rapture predictions.  I think it's perfectly reasonable to have a strong faith in your own version of the Christian religion - and still think  Camping and his endless predictions are totally whacked!

Aleta, thanks for posting the video ... loved it, muchly!

And folks, don't fret.  MY fifth wedding anniversary this October (21st) is going to be AMAZING!  Why?  Because Camping will once again have to work on an interesting excuse which doesn't involve the words, 'full cow of I'm poo' (to be put in any order you wish, as long as it makes sense.)

Actually, in all seriousness simple mathematics dictates that our consumption of resources doubles at paces that "growth" simply cannot sustain.
That's not true. Simple mathematics dictates that our consumption of resources will never run out.

As a resource dwindles, its price increases until demand matches availability. Also, as the price increases, it makes what was a more expensive alternative relatively cheaper, thus demand is further reduced by substitution.

Sail gave way to coal, which later gave way to diesel. The need for railroads has reduced because of the availability of air transport. Horses were displaced by automobiles, before they clogged up the streets with manure.

Rough estimates point to almost 11 billion people on the planet by 2050 if current fertility rates hold firm. The developing world will continue likely with high growth rates in population whereas the western world will see stagnation, if not negative rates. That said, Asia (China) is consuming more and more, not to mention Southeast Asia and a red hot Brazilian economy. We will need new means of producing energy, yes. But whether or not that is oil or fission, what have you, our demand for energy will soon outpace production of energy. Plus, the more life saving breakthroughs we have, we will keep alive more people for longer, who will in turn demand more energy.

Plus, price is irrelevant to someone who just takes what they need. Not that I'm trying to tie a neat ribbon here, but we've had six banks robbed, rather brazenly in five days. More and more, push comes to shove. Lots of people are now deciding to shove before pushing.

Even in Ladson, SC, it's still more lucrative to be a bank owner rather than a bank robber.

That was when the Universe was going to be destroyed originally, 153 days after the Rapture... Well, secondly, really. he first thought the Rapture would be in 1994.
