i am awesome.

« on: January 11, 2007, 11:47:36 AM »

So, my daughter's 5th birthday is coming up, she is a Valentine's day baby. She is totally into the whole "Disney Princess" theme, so I know I kinda wanna go that route, as for the cake and such.

Here's what I want for her bday party... I plan on buying invitations this weekend, and filling them out and asking them to be passed out to her classmates, and in them I will ask the parent to please R.S.V.P so I know how many kids will be showing up. So, I plan on buying her a cake, and having ice cream for the whole "cake and ice cream" thing. I was thinking of maybe getting toy princess crowns for every girl to wear and if there is any boys at the party im not sure what to do for them yet, lol.

I know my daughter wants a pinyata (how do I spell that, i have no clue.. hope u know what im referring too!!) so I will be geting one of those for everyone to take a whack at.

I was also thinking of making little bags with candy/little trinket toys or something inside for each guest.

After that I am clueless.... like, what kind of games would be good? Or.. activities to do? Something to entertain and allow them to enjoy the time there here and have fun, I was thinking the party would be like from noon-4pm, or 3pm.. so about 3 or 4 hrs to fill with fun.

Any ideas?? I'm not good at planning, and this is the first birthday party I have ever planned and done!

BTW: She is 4 now, turning 5, so the other kids will be 4 and 5. Thats the age group.

Thanks!!  ;D

Pin the tail on the donkey was popular when I was young. Bean bag throw for distance,. Hide and seek. rent a kareoke machine and they wil sing for hours, especially if you get the little light show to go with it.

I would plan a craft for the kids to do.  It could be really simple like coloring.  You could print out princess coloring pages from the internet and give the kids crayons.

You could also do decorate you own crown.  Make crowns out of cardboard and aluminum foil for each kid and then give them markers, stickers, and craft store supplie like beads, etc to decorate them.

Another idea is to have each girl come dressed up as her favorite princess, then have a fashion show while they are there.   This could include boys a well.  Have the boys dress as a superhero or something.

I have a 6 year old daughter so I have done a bunch of parties.  I try to plan 3 or 4 activities, and I am always surprised how fast the party goes by.  I never get to do all I plan.

When my daughter Becca had her 6th birthday she had all her friends come dressed as princesses. Jenna took a poster board and with colored markers and she made a BIG drawing (copied from a coloring book) - then cut out little pieces and put a little piece of tape on the back. It was an original "Pin the kisses on Dopey" - they had a great time with that.

What about "Nap Time" that should take up a good hour!   ;D

If it is not cold or raining you could rent a "Jumpie House".  I have a Castle and Spider Man.  I plan on starting a Bounce House Business as soon as I move to Spokane.  Kids will jump in those all day!

Grab a big box, and a nice sized mirror. Place the mirror, so that when the box is open, that person can see themself. Tell them, this is the most important person in your life, when she looks at you, seal it with a kiss!
