Alports, dialysis '07-'12,cancer'11,transplant '12

« on: April 27, 2011, 12:27:07 PM »

Last Friday I had my yearly momogram to stay current and hopefully get my transplant.  So, they called and wanted me back for more mamo/untra sound testing.  Today I went and, you guessed it, they found both a "small mass" and a "cluster" which are "worrisome" and need to be biopsied ASAP.   I go next Friday a.m. for biopsies.  They used the word cancer three times and will be leaving "clips" to mark the spots for the surgon...  I'm just overwhelmed, I mean really, on top of hearing loss, loss of my job, kidney failure, dialysis, bankrupcy and forclosure.....  REALLY!

Oh, that just, just.. - well, hell!  The only phrase I can think of is one of my gram's - "sucks rotten eggs like the neighbor's thieving dog."  A bit out of context, but it will do.

So sorry. It's nice to have a place like IHD where we can vent. Life gets to be overwhelming at times.

This just sucks big time.

So, my dear hubby always says that it can only make you stronger......

But OMG! Enough already! There has to be some good stuff coming your way, it just took a detour!

Sure makes you wonder sometimes!   Geez Peaz Louise!

I had a spot, went through the biopsy and open excision surgery and it was nothing.  And I guess I was supposed to be thankful, but I was like 'now can you people just leave me the hell alone'....

Let us know how next Friday turns out.

Wow, it is really hitting the fan over at your place.  Hang in there, better times are coming (so they tell me).  Sending you lots and lots of hugs.  Keep us posted on the outcome.

I see what the problem is now....Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, the Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

Please don't think that I'm making light of your difficult situation, but I have to try to make you smile just a little. I really do wish you all the best right now & you will be in my prayers. Someone told me once that God will only give you what He believes you can handle & when He sees you beginning to fall, He will send someone to lift you back up. It will get better...just wish I could tell you when that will be.

Gosh WIK, how horrid.  I am so sorry that all these things are happening.  As Aleta says, the Good Things must have taken a detour (and hopefully the Good Things have lots of lovely surprises to spring on you eventually.) I hope that everything goes okay, and that things aren't as bad as the worst case scenarios that must be playing through your head.

WishIKnew, I wish I knew as well. You are having loads of things thrown at you, I feel in the same situation. Things keep piling up and it is one thing after another. Shall we both scream together. Its when people say "you have to stay strong and focused"  Ive tried all this and it is not working. I am really tired of being tired and you must feel the same. OK so on a positive note, we are going to pick our selves up and dust our selves down because there are people out there who are worse off than us. I think!

On a positive note - you all make me smile and the light at the end of the tunnel turned off made me LOL!  Thanks!

So, I just got home today form a week in the hospital.  I had the worst bout of peritonitis yet.  Next infection I get I loose my PD cath and have to do Hemo.  I was so sick and so scared!!!!  I still feel a little off....   I've had peritonitis three times in the last month and a half (started right after I got a new machine - but that's a whole nother thread) and two hospital stays.  This is so hard on me and my family!

Have to reschedule my breast biopsy because of the recent illness....

Anyway, friends!  It helps just knowing you are there!

WishIKnew, Peritonitis 3 times in a month, that sounds awful. Is it because they have not cleared up the  first infection and it keeps coming back. I am so sorry for you, I know how much my husband suffered when he had his. Hope things are getting better.
