I've been short of breath recently.  Espically at night when lying down to go to bed and/or rolling over to change positions. Is this normal or do I have something else going on?

The PD nurse is available 24 hours a day. You should call the nurse to find out what causes the short of breath.

This could just be the extra fluid weight in your abdomen or a more serious condition(fluid around the heart) that needs urgent medical attention.  Please call your nurse right now and ask her what she/he needs you to do.

Good luck!

Just checking to see how you are doing today.  You did call your nurse, right?

I experienced this and it was discovered I had plural effusion.  They drained a liter and an half from my lungs.  Check it out to be safe!

Thanks all for great advice.  Pleural effusion as some of you guessed.  Don't know yet if it is PD fluid or not.
