Hi folks - hope you all enjoyed Mother's Day
First set of tests re my status as donor have gone well- now I need to have an ultra sound and a nuclear test-
can anyone tell me what to expect. Is the scan done on front or back of body and what happens in the nuclear
- All the best,
Kay

Hello Kay!  What kind of nuclear test are you having?  Is it a stress test?  I had a nuclear stress test on Friday.  It wasn't too bad, I was able to go to work right away afterwards.

I had a nuclear kidney function test, which also was not bad at all. I just lay on a table while they took a scan.

It's Mothering Sunday in the UK (3 Apr).  I am hoping my kid remembered and that I will get a card in the post tomorrow!

Hi everyone - thanks for replying whilst I have been asleep.
I think it is a nuclear test for the kidney function and a scan to check I have got one to give away.
The US Mothering Sunday is in May - don't know why that is. I thought it had something to do with servants going home to see families at Easter time and taking a Simnel cake??

Kay, I hope yours turns out better than mine!  :2thumbsup;

I did not have high enough function to donate to my husband. I keep pestering them and even looked into going to another transplant center, so they relented and allowed me have the test. I had worked for a year to improve my function and came within a few points of our center's protocol.

Ah, well. In the end he got a kidney from a deceased donor.

Thinking of you. The test is no big deal.
