Of course, anyone can make up unfortunate names, but these are the ones I've come across that really were posessed by someone.

Mr A Nurse worked at the electricity company in Kings Lynn
Mr R Sitch worked at Sizewell nuclear power station
Dr H Wankowska is a sexual health consultant at Ipswich hospital
Mr Pulfree used to be Mrs Stoday's dentist
A Tool Hire shop in Ipswich used to have a shop "Hamptons" next door. (Hampton Wick is a London suburb and rhyming slang for dick)

I have to tell you this story...it's the only "cute kid" story I have because my son is autistic, and I don't get many chances to brag about him like other parents brag about little Johnny is the star athlete and little Susie is Homecoming queen.

My son lives in the UK with his dad but flies frequently as an unaccompanied minor on British Airways to come and see me.  After the US and the UK went into Iraq, of course there was a lot of talk about terrorism.  This made my son understandably reticent about flying, particularly out of a potential enormous target like Heathrow.  He phoned me one afternoon and asked me if they had caught that bad man yet.

"Which bad man are you talking about?"

"You know...Al"

"Al?"

"Yeah, mum.  Al Qaeda!."

 :rofl;

Well, that's sort of an "unfortunate name" story."  It still makes me laugh.

Lukin Tupu Daily.

NOT a joke. Actually a girl from my old high school named her second child that. Worse part is they wouldn't even have a clue!  :thumbdown;

These are not unfortunate names but rather real and endearing names that Philipinos don't seem to have problems with:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/from_our_own_correspondent/9435751.stm

"These names are found in all sectors of society.

Sometimes they are nicknames, sometimes genuine first names - but they are always what people are referred to on a day-to-day basis.

Even the president is not spared. His real name is Benigno Aquino, but almost everyone here calls him Noynoy.

Two of his sisters are called Pinky and Ballsy. No-one seems to see the need to ask why.    Why would you call your children after the days of the week or your favourite desserts?

Neither does anyone question the integrity of Joker Arroyo, one of the country's most respected senators.

That is his real first name. Apparently he got it because of his father's fondness for playing cards.

Joker's brother is called Jack."

A girl from my hometown was named Candy Kitchen.  Such a great choice in a town full of candy stores that all make traditional family recipe fudge on site!

I went to high school with Anita Mann.

In my job, I sometimes see good name and address combinations.  Such as Mr. Bakewell who lived on Treat Ave.  Or Mr. Bare who lived on Bunn St.  Oh, and one of my favorites - the Slutsky's who live on Supreme Ct!

being that i have a famous name i have to say THAT is unfortunate.... i am ALWAYS getting folks asking if I am that person... Drives me nuts.

As kids we used to phone the local zoo and leave a message as mr C Lion or mrs G Raff.

I thought that was funny.  :laugh:

I used to have a neighbor named Rocky Beach.

A kid I went to school with was named Dustin (Dusty) Person.

There used to be a mechanic next to my favorite comic book shop.  The mechanic's specialty was transmissions, so he called his shop the "Tranny Shack."  Much snickering ensued.

Jiffy lube had a sign that said "Free Tranny Inspection" which, at the time, my roommate, a transgendered person, and I saw this sign, and nearly  died laughing.

There was a little first grader last year named Andy Butts.  OMG wouldn't you change your last name if you were his parents like a LONG time ago?  At least his first name wasn't Harry!

Also I have heard of Rusty Pipes.
