I pray that Larry G's "journey" takes him on a great big U-turn back to good health and a great life!  This is such wonderful news!!!

He's found his way out of dialysis trudgery and is now on the newly-transplanted med roller coaster, hopefully soon to be charting the calm waters of renal stability.

Way to go, Larry! Congrats! :yahoo; :beer1; And drink up!

Hi all. I am a transplanted guy. Everthing went well and I am adjusting. The kidney from my beautiful donor is working really well. It is producing so much urine and the creatine levels has dropped to 1.5 the last check. the doctors are very pleased I had a rough night yesterday but feel really good today. Had some fluid retention. I am eating well. Have not walked much but will try and get through the halls today. I feel so good and it is so good not to have that washed out dialysis feeling. Anyway I will post more later.

I am home and it is good to be here. So I have gone from one extreme to the other as far as fluid restrictions and I have to urinate almost every ten minutes. I am so grateful for the sacrifice and the gift of my donor. Who would had thought placing an ad on Craigslist and in less than three months I would be transplanted. Positive thinking and determination and a loving altruistic donor and miracles do happen.

I'm so glad for you, Larry!  :2thumbsup;

That overly frequent urination might be caused by slight irritation form the stent. Things should settle down when it is removed. You have THAT to look forward to!  :rofl;

Had my followup today after one week of my kidney transplant and everything is great. Doctor says I don't look like someone who was transplanted a week ago. Creatine is 1.3 and all vitals are good except magnesium is down a little so more magnesium foods rather than pills.

Natnnnat, It is two weeks in and I feel great. The incision is still a little sore and the swelling is down. No side effects from the meds so far and a lot of my skin issues I had before has disappeared. The best thing two weeks of dialysis free living. I am recouping nicely as well as my donor and another problem is the time I have on my hands feeling good. Not use to waking up refreshed without that dialysis washed out feeling.

After transplant followup today.Hard to believe it has been about 7 weeks. All looks good and now come back in three weeks for follow ups. Still need more Magnesium and Phosphorus and Potassium down but feeling pretty good.
Nice hard to state that it is so good being out of dialysis.
