Has anyone here ever learned another language with Rosetta Stone or some other language acquisition programme?  My brain is turning to mush, so I thought I'd learn something new and wondered if any of you have any suggestions in this regard.

Lecture series available online from college professors at some of the best colleges in the world.  Berkley, Stanford, Yale, Notre Dame, etc.

My daughter had someone give her a disk from that program and she liked it. I think with learning any language it takes patirnce and dedication.

This is very similar to Rosetta Stone but WAY cheaper. You can try it for free and it has it's own support community and forums so you can be mentored by native speakers online.

The university here in Charlottetown has a Rosetta Stone lab set up.  Members of the public can come in and use the lab for free.  I've always meant to go in, but never got around to it.  I always wanted to learn French.  I think that it would be good to have a conversational understanding of the language, considering it's one of my country's official languages..

Rosetta stone is the most advertised, and most costly program I found. I will say it is a good program. I was fortunate they have several different languages at my public library. The copies are not the most current ones on the market, but free.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I do believe that our local library might have some Rosetta Stone courses, so I'll check it out!  Hadn't thought of that...great suggestion.
