I just listened to the song now. That is a good song. I would love to let my dad listen to it. Is that okay? His dad died when he was just a little boy.

I just heard this song a moment ago and I must say sluff, I am very impressed.  You managed to put your heart felt thoughts into words for a beautiful song where most people would struggle just to put their thoughts into words, let alone, create anything magical with them.  Well done sir.

I can empathize, especially today.  My brother's first grandchild was born today and he is not alive to see her.  I know his son has thought of him today and wished so hard that his dad was here to see her, and my parents have missed their son as well.  A happy and sad day   :'(   Emma Rie(Ree) 6lbs 4 oz, 19 inches, and she looks like her dad when he was a baby.  My brother would be so proud of his son and his granddaughter.

Thanks for the  :bump;  I wanted to share those thoughts but didn't want to start a new thread.

Thanks for the kind words.

I lost my 52 year old brother to renal cell carcinoma in July of 2002.  My parents lost their only son.  But, more importantly my two nephews and my niece, lost their Dad.  The youngest had not yet started her senior year of high school.  Dad's are so important and it is extremely sad when the loss comes young.  Epokid comes to mind.  Even as an adult it is hard to bury a parent.

The birth of my niece, his first grandchild, poignantly reminded me of their loss, and the wonderful event he missed.  He has been on my mind and I'm sure on the mind of his son and our parents.  I am so fortunate to still have both of my parents.  Wish I could be there with them and the rest of the family. ::sigh::

Thanks again Sluff.  You were a good son and I'm sure your father was very proud of you.

Oh Sluff I hadn't heard this before, it's beautiful, thank you for sharing something so special  Your daddy was very lucky to have such a caring son who clearly loved him so much.  I would like my own sons to hear this (they were 17 and 19 when their dad died after a long battle with cancer) this could so be a tribute to him.  Love ya Sluff (got to stop now, too many tears) xx
