Oh, you've read my mind, Des (and that's probably not a good thing!)...I was thinking last night that it seems that everytime I look, there is a new member.  While I am so thrilled that all of these people have found the very best site in the whole entire world on which they can vent, laugh and get information and uncommon wisdom, there is always a sad story attached; I hate to see so many people having to deal with D in any form or fashion.  Well, we can't do much about that, but we CAN help everyone find some small ray of hope.

We average about 7 new members per day, but some never post. I am glad people can find there way to IHD and get answers and support here. I wish there had been a place like this when Jenna was first diagnosed 10 years ago.

Welcome to all!!

I gotta admit I'm kind of saddened by all the new members.  I'm glad they found us, but man oh man, when are we going to conquer all the diseases related to kidney failure?

The sad thing to me is that even though we have over 5,500 members, there are still 300,000 more patients on dialysis in the US that we haven't met yet.

Agree, Okarol...there are SO many of them out there and so few of them have found the education, support and just plain friendship that IHD has to offer.

I hope Epoman is looking down with a huge smile on his face.  I don't know that even he dreamed there would be so many members.  I never knew what the number of kidney patients were until I joined. With so many of us, you would think there would be more news and awareness about kidney disease.   I'm trying to do my part to spread the word.

Thanks to all you make this site my second home.  It is my safe place where I know someone understands and can share compassion.

Good thread, Des!    :2thumbsup;

I've never before accessed the web via my mobile phone. IHD has been such good company for me during my (temporary) haemo sessions. I love the sharing, the wisdom, the humour and the support. This site is such a wonderful resource for renal patients and their carers.

The difference of haveing this place and not haveing it is huge!!  i remember how i felt when hubby just started D.  It was frightning.  I cant believe how IHD changed that and helped it become a 'part' of life not our whole life.  I love it here.  Beautiful people!

This is definitely the place to be for anyone in anyway connected to this renal challenge (and even those not at all connected!).  I am so happy that I found this place. And I thank all of you for being part of this wonderful place.
