The local high school drama club, along with all their friends surrounded the checkout lanes at the local big box store while I was finishing my shopping tonight.  Over 100 kids spontaneously broke into "Do Re Mi"  complete with choreographed dance moves. (Can you guess that they are doing Sound of Music for the school play this year?)

Amazing what that Glee show on Fox has done to make choir and singing in public cool, isn't it?  Even more fun what a lot of bored kids can do with mass texting.   ;D  (It's a small town - not much else to do, and all your neighbors recognize you, so no way not to get caught if you do something wrong!)

Totally awesome to be dead in the middle of it, though!   :clap; :clap; :clap;

So, anyone else been flash mobbed yet?

I've never even heard of this (even though I've seen Glee enough times), but I'm afraid that if I were ever flash mobbed, I'd be the middled aged lady who couldn't resist joining in.  Even worse, I wouldn't be embarrassed... :P

Oooh, I would love that!  I've always loved the flash mob adverts on the tellybox (even though I don't like the phone company they advertise over here!)

MM, go to www.youtube.com and search for "flash mob."  There's dozens of videos, some truly amazing.  Some of them are clearly well rehearsed and well organized, but the truly fun ones are the spontaneous ones where everyone arrived on a whim after receiving the instructions through mass forwarded texts.
A group called Improv Everywhere does a lot of fun things, too.  Their mass "freeze" in Grand Central Station is amazing.
