 :cheer: :cheer:

Final matching bloodtest on Thursday 24th Feb.
Appointment with the surgeon 1Mar.

Will soon have a date  :bandance; :bandance; :bandance; :bandance;

Bless the donors,  all of them.  :rofl; :yahoo; :bandance; :cheer: :cheer:

I know you want to know why I have not mentioned this good news before, :oops; well this is the same donor that has cancelled on me before so I did not want to count the kidneys before they were donated :).

So we have completed all our tests and all looks well. We are doing the VERY last of them all on the 24th. The files will be submitted to the surgeon and the dept of health. Once we have a stamped letter from them we will book theatre and we are A for Away.

Oh my God, how utterly, utterly wonderful!  It's all happening so FAST!!  Gosh, it seems like here in the US, such things take years!  I can't wait to hear more!

I just can't imagine what it must be like not to have to wait years and years for a new lease on life.  You are so incredibly fortunate, Des, and I am so happy for you.

Oh, Des! What a long, strange journey this has been for you! I am so glad your coworker has got her nerve back.

I'd love to hear what brought her round again. But never mind, eh? She's stepping up now, and hopefully you will be rid of that horrible dialysis forever. :yahoo; :yahoo; :yahoo;

I wish you only the best. Keep updating us!

Thanks all you lovely people ! :thx; I will keep you all posted as soon as I know more. The surgeon's office phoned me today to discuss payment and medical aid. Now that makes it more real. OMGoodness!!!  I started studying my transplant bookl. I have pages of info on all the diff meds and their side effects to know off by heart, as well as alot of other stuff about signs of rejection, what to expect and lots lots more.

Chris : It will still be a month or two before the actual transplant, but who's worried about that , NOT ME.

Caraid: The transplant coordinator phoned my donor and she gave her a stern talking to. I don't know what was said (don't want to know) but she phoned and started the transplant procedure up again.

Moosemom - this actually started last year October. To me it feels much longer.

Richard : Yeah! for our cricket team.   :rofl;

Alet: I am also doing the crying thing- I really really hope that it can just go through without any incident. :flower;
