The ten day long rodeo began last night.  Today they had the Longhorn drive through downtown San Antonio, down Houston St.  I wasn't able to go, but I really wanted to.  Maybe next year.  We might go to the rodeo this week or next, but not sure.

Maybe rodeo time next year will be a good time to have the San Antonio IHD meeting?   Anyone interested?  It's usually at the end of January or the beginning of February.

I would have like to see that also, we have a much smaller one here in Del Rio. Kelly you should make it over here for the George Paul Memorial Bull Riding. OMG last year, I think they had the best super bull come into town and one rider won $10,000 to stay on top of him for the 6 second duration. Last year I was on the other side of the state in Kennedy, TX but this year I am going to the bull riding. The contest will be boradcast on the GAC channel. Here are links for information.

When I was in grade school (mid-late 1960's), I loved rodeo because it was the only time that we girls were allowed to wear trousers to school!  I have pictures of myself in my rodeo gear heading off to school.

My best friend's parents would take us to the rodeo each year when it was in the Astrodome.  We'd always see Wayne Newton because my friend's mom loved Wayne Newton.

I grew up in Houston, so the Rodeo and the space program were big deals.  Those were great times.  I'd love to see the rodeo again!

We used to have a rodeo here years back. We used to have alot of things in the older days. I remember going to see Barnum & Bailey Cirrcus, they were the real deal!

And I used to love to go see the "Harem Glob Trotters" (not sure bout the spelling).  Curly was my favorite!
