I had asked about the 'set up early' when we just started as well and nxStage "educator" is fine with it.  They said center may not be, but as far as safty and all, it's just fine... Sometimes i leave at the 23 for a few hours, sometimes if it's going to be overnight i do what bill does, and sometimes i set up and dont push start until morning.  They said all is safe and ok but!!!!! it's best to check for yourself then your not just saying "i heard it on the internet"  hehe

@big777bill – questions?  Do you prime the cartridge first than cut the cycler off?   I think something is missing in your post or maybe not.

Dailysis patient for since 1999 and still kicking it strong.  I was called for a transplant but could not get it due to damage veins from extremely high blood pressure.  Have it under control now, on NxStage System but will receive dailysis for the rest of my life.  Does life sucks because of this.  ABOLUTELY NOT!  Life is what you make it good, bad, sick, or healthy.  Praise God I'm still functioning as a normal person just have to take extra steps.

What I posted earlier was referring to how you procede after you're done priming the cartridge. When you get the 23 turn the machine off from behind. Do not press the red stop button. The next day just turn the machine on. You will get a 40 between the flashing yellow lines. Then press the kidney button to start. The machine will run for 2 minutes before the 23 comes back up. Then snap and tap and you're ready to go. Hope that helps.

I've been setting up a little earlier (still within 4 hours simply because I keep forgetting to ask my center about it!) and letting the machine run in "23". I can't believe how much of a difference it has made! Snap & tap goes so fast now!

Isnt it amazing Cebu!!  I think i used to spend at least 45 min snap and tapping and still not really satisfied.  Been doing 'this' way (or for me at least 2 hours) for a year and a half and one time, the filter had a totaly seperaty issue where i had to quickly get rid of that one, and prime another (We had cannulated but not connected) w/0 the 'wait'time and ohhhhhhhhhhh how i hated it and fussed and laughed with tech at nxStage the whole time!!!  Absolutly freeked me out seeing those little bubbles and knowing if only i could wait a bit i could get rid of them...  sooooooo, anyway, yea, it does solve alot huh  ;D
