Turns out the Moon has been pushing us around since the Babylonians established the conventional zodiac signs we are all familiar with ... to the point where a new sign is needed. Adding a sign means all the others have to be adjusted so now I am supposedly a Leo instead of a Virgo.

So, this explains a lot!!!  I've never felt like I fit in as a Leo but was instead more Cancerian, and this is why!!  I'd like to be that new sign, though...that sounds way cooler.

Most Western followers of the zodiac use the "Tropical Zodiac," which has had no change at all.
Just another media mash-up.

I've never fit as a Gemini anyway.. I'm far too introverted... I need to check out the characteristics of a Taurus... AND, with the new sign, Stephen Colbert is also a Taurus

I have now gone from a Capricorn to a Sagittarius, but I don't like keeping fit. I am definitely a Capricorn. Hard working, boring, does not like keep fitting and I hate sports. So there.I am stopping where I am.

If an extra constellation really is required, Ophiuchus is a bad choice. It lies where constellations in use lie close together (Saggitarius, Scorpius, Libra) and it's not on the ecliptic. So the sun's never in Ophiuchus.

A better choice would be Cancer, which is on the ecliptic and lies smack between Leo and Gemini.

Ha.  According to the Daily Mail article I should now be Gemini.  I am Cancer and have all the characteristics of Cancer. So I looked up the characteristics of Gemini and was interested to note that yes, I could be Gemini.  If I had the inclination to keep researching I'd no doubt find that I also have many of the characteristics of many of the other signs.

Nope, I've never been much of a believer in the zodiac.

Here's an explanation of the whole misunderstanding:
http://planetwaves.net/pagetwo/2011/01/13/your-zodiac-sign-is-not-wrong/

"... Here in the West, we use a zodiac that follows the seasons. It’s called the tropical zodiac. It’s based on the position of the Sun’s rays and the tropics — that’s why it’s called tropical. There is another one, based on the positions of the stars. It’s called the sidereal zodiac."

Oops! Cancer's already one of the 12.

Just goes to show how much I take account of horoscopes.

Of course many of us do.

It's better than the pundits in newspapers at forecasting what the stockmarket will do.
