I've never posted anything before, so we'll see if this works.  My ex-husband just started dialysis, coincident with a double bypass operation two weeks ago, but he seems to be doing impressively well on both fronts.  He is 65 years old, and our daughters are 25 and 21, and I am 53, and we are all new to dialysis, so I'm just looking for whatever information I can find to offer whatever support I can to my ex and our girls.  This website is the absolute best resource imaginable because it injects a little humor into what is otherwise a scary and unknown situation for us, so thank you to all of you for giving our family a place to get answers and support!  Warmly, Dianne

Oh, have YOU come to the right place!!  Welcome welcome welcome...we have loads of people here who are very knowledgable and supportive.  I KNOW you will learn a lot from this site.  Lots of people to hold your hand and talk you through things.

I hope your daughters will learn from you...that people can care for one another despite a broken marriage.  Good for you! :cuddle;

Born with autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease
1995 - AV Fistula placed
Dec 7, 1999 cadaver transplant saved me from childhood dialysis!
10 transplant years = spleenectomy, gall bladder removed, liver biopsy, bone marrow aspiration.
July 27, 2010 Started dialysis for the first time ever.
June 21, 2011 2nd kidney nonrelated living donor
September 2013 Liver Cancer tumor.
October 2013 Ablation of liver tumor.
Now scans every 3 months to watch for new tumors.
Now Status 7 on the wait list for a liver.
How about another decade of solid health?
