I've been very tired lately but I did get a load of laundry done and hung on the line. Did a little work in the garden. That's about it for today.

I managed to take a shower tonight.  I don't think it's ever worn me out so much.  Anyone who's familiar with spoon theory will know what I mean when I saw that it took at least 5 spoons to get it done

It's a Bank Holiday here so we've entertained my in-laws.  Sat through honeymoon snaps of Mexico and drank too much wine but everybody left us in a happy mood, even my MiL. 

This was after a morning spent completely cleaning the house.  As soon as they left I got the hoover out again because the state of my new rug (shredding) was making my head spin.

Tonight I will be mostly eating the food that's left over and soaking in some bubbles.

Today I am going to make my christmas puddings!!!!
I have a whole heap of dried fruit and a bottle of berry Port and all I need now is to source six individual pudding basins from town
and I'm away....

I visited a town I've never been to before, on buses and severely disrupted trains, to have lunch with a friend.  I spent vast amounts of money on stocking-filler style Christmas presents from a factory shop, two tops and a dress.  In my defence though, the dress was one I've been wanting for a long time and it was on sale (£30 off) and it's not available online anymore.  I was exceedingly happy to find it!  Oh, and the credit card paid for it. Sorry Blokey!

Hell Galvo, my Christmas preparations started over a month ago. I even have a notebook just for Christmas 2013!!!
Booked a cottage. And started planning menus and activities. Done half of my Christmas shopping already!!!
Those six mini Christmas puddings are steamed and now stored away.
I'll make the cake next week!

In truth, I absolutely love Christmas and half the fun is in the planning!
But then I'm British ... and we always long for a traditional, white christmas!  :ukflag;

But we never get one (unless we live in the highlands of Scotland) ... *sigh*

I spent the morning at Hospital (in return for a free sandwich) taking part in research for diabetes.  I was visited by vampires twice (and they took LOADS of blood), radiated once, made to go on a treadmill, had an ultrasound on my liver, weight/height/waist/hips all measured and had an ECG.  Oh, and I pee'd in a pot before drinking some vile sweet glucose drink.  I'm now walking around for the next six days with three different things strapped to me measuring my heart-rate.

Then I went to the cinema on my own and snarled at the plethora of teenage girls who were annoying me. 

 ;D 

(Oh, and in a few weeks I'll be sent all my gumpf and it'll include a picture of my skeleton ... WooHoo!  I'm looking forward to that.)

I got up around 1 pm (went to sleep around 4:30 am), got dressed and went to Starbucks to get my caramel frappuccino.  Then I came home played Farmville 2 on Zynga.  Then went grocery shopping with hubby, John.  Then came home, ate dinner, watched some tv.  Then played Farmville 2 again.  Came here and posted a newer picture of myself in that thread.  And I'm about to go to Shutterfly to work on a photo book.  And I'll probably get on Ancestry for a while too.

Anyway, considering I'm just coming out of a bad depression spell, that's pretty good for me!

Dec. 7, 2002 Sm. intestine ruptures while home alone. Still conscious upon arrival at hospital.
Dec. 8. 2002 - Surgery to repair ruptured bowel.  The prognosis is not good.  Surgeon tells family to prepare for the worse.  Spend a week in a coma and 3 months in hospital.  Takes abt a year and a half to completely recover.

Managed to get a zero diastolic blood pressure reading on D to-day! I was waiting for the men with the wheelbarow, when the nurse tightened the cuff, and everything was hunky dory!

That happens to me quite often when hooked up to dialysis machine with automatic bp monitor.
Alarm goes off and it reads Patient has no pulse!!!
Someone obviously forgot to tell me I was dead!!!
We use disposable cuffs and they usually only last about a month at a time before developing air leaks ... can't see how that saves em any money  8)

I managed to put away a whole Vegetarian thin pizza, with artichoke, mushroom, red pepper, leek and cheese topping, two big slices of garlic bread, a glass and a half of Prosecco and a small coffee last night.
It was wonderful   ... but feel a bit "over" this morning. Need my dialysis.
But sometimes, just sometimes, it is good .... and worth it!   :P  :P  :P

Sugarlump, you are my kind of girl. I could eat pizza every day and not tire of it. But, I am a "purist", cheese and extra cheese please.
I accomplished nothing but grocery shopping today, so I am $112.00 poorer now. It is too hot here and we are having humidity, very rare for Southern California, We are all suffering with it.

Just achieving the grocery shop is no mean feat Jean!
it is very hot and humid over here  :ukflag; Jean so I did an online shop for delivery Thursday
Good Old Sainsburys (saves me struggling carrying all that stuff, especially as I am not supposed to use my fistula arm for anything at moment til it matures.

It's been raining pretty steadily for the last 2 days, so I haven't been able to take Hugo (my sparkly blue walker) out to show off to the neighbors. *L*

We did go see a couple of acts at the PEI Busker Festival on Saturday.  I watched a really cute German guy fall off a 10 foot unicycle, while cracking whips that were on fire.

I was able to get the dock apart and haul it and the float out of the water and to the house by myself, of course I did need a nap afterwards.
