This will be the first week with over 40 hours since early 2007 (up until two weeks ago it would have been the first week with more than 30 hours; in the last three weeks I doubled my hours for the year). If this keeps up (it will if I can) I should regain my union insurance early next year. Work + Insurance = Travel. How do you get the energy to do all that? Please give us an idea...Thanks, Kristina.

I let my spirit tell my body what's going to happen what I'm going to do what I'm not going to do, because if I let the body tell me what I'm going to do I'm not going to do very much.

It's been 10 years since I worked day after after day away from a desk I was only offered this position last month), I didn't know if I'd be able to do it, but after 6 days (8.5 today, 48 hours for the week) I'm grinding it out. My muscles are sore in a good way (my feet are sore, in a bad way) but I'm psyched to finish out this show (the first big show since I got back). I'll work tomorrow and at least into next week, then we'll taper off into the holidays. But come the new year I'm ready to make the job a priority and I think it'll be good for me. When I started with the union in 1995, it's what turned things around for me in general. I'd say working turned a downward spiral (at the time I had been on dialysis 4 years) into an upward spiral - by the end of 1995 I felt like a new person. No one would go to the gym for 8 hours every day but that's what work felt and feels like. Physical work is just sustained exercise and it leads to eating better and sleeping better and being more organized. It's an upward spiral.I remember the late 90s as a great time, mostly, a period of work and travel; I'm going to try to get back to that ... my body is just going to have accept that and make it happen.
Poppy...thanks for the grin.
Whilst cooking Sunday dinner I tested my smoke alarms. Yep, they still work. (Note to self: clean the oven!)
In Canada it is illegal for any utility to be disconnected between the Oct 31st and April 1st. the companies will charge you up the hoop in fines but they still can not cut you off!!!
