I do not understand why Titans let Hasselback go.  Maybe this Fitzgerald (I think that his name) guy is "Miraculous".. I know it's about the money, but common guys! 

Did anyone see the Louisville basketball game?  Man, Ware really did a number on his leg.  The bone actually stuck out through the skin.  It was shocking to watch.  Sickening to see!  Right in front of his bench too.  They all looked away in shock!
Hope he is okay.  That was very unusual!

The upcoming NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 25!



The Giants began their offseason workout program this week, the first step in kicking off the new season. And on Thursday, the Giants and the other 31 teams in the NFL will find out exactly against whom and when they sill start the 2013 campaign.

League spokesman Greg Aiello announced Tuesday morning that the 2013 regular-season schedule will be released this Thursday, April 18, at 8 p.m. ET. Since the end of last season, the Giants have known their 2013 slate of opponents (see below), but will now find out the order in which they play. Last year -- in keeping with NFL tradition -- the Giants, then-defending Super Bowl champions, hosted Dallas in primetime to kick off 2012 and ended against NFC East rival Philadelphia.

As much as I love football, I am not quite ready for it because...

1.  I'm hoping the Sox will get swept by the Astros.  Chicago sports talk radio is at its best when a local team sucks eggs.

2.  I'm a relatively new hockey fan and am really loving the Stanley Cup playoffs.  Two OT games between the Hawks and Bruins.  I've decided there are few things more exciting in the sports world than sudden death ice hockey.

3.  Can the Spurs win one of the final two matches at the Heat?  Can't wait to find out!

4.  Wimbledon!  Need I say more!  Starts on the 24th, the same day as my one year post tx anniversary, so I'm pumped!

5.  While living in the UK, I became a Formula 1 fan.  It's not as easy to follow here in the US because of the time differences, but did you know that the US Grand Prix (the Formula One schedule doesn't always include the US) will be held in Austin, TX this year?  It was held there last year and was such a success that I am hoping that it will be the established venue for all US Formula One races in the future.

6.  Oh, and the English Premiership season begins 17 August and will be shown on NBC's sports channel.  Crystal Palace was promoted, so I'll actually be able to see them on American TV!!!  Amazing!

So, I have lots of sports to watch before I can begin thinking about the NFL!

Now that hockey is over for a short while, and the Cubs are scraping the bottom of the barrel as usual, I am so ready for football I can taste it! 

May I be the first to say for this season....GO PACK GO!!!!    

And may I also mention that the last time the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup, the Packers went on to win the Super Bowl the following January.....just sayin'

I was born and raised in Texas, but I've just spent a week in the UP and would very much like to be an honorary Yooper, if that's allowed!  Can't wait to go back.

As for the NFL, I can't believe I'm going to say this, but after the completely amazing Stanley Cup playoffs, I just can't get into the whole NFL circus.  I am a relatively new hockey fan, and there is just something so, well, "pure" about the sport, at least in the way it is presented.  I'm so tired of the corporatization of the NFL that I'm becoming a little jaded.  I've been a sports fan since I was 7 years old.  But it just seems that the three major American team sports (NFL, MLB and NBA) have become nothing but long running soap operas.  If I hear another season of Chicago's sportscasters blathering on about Jay Cutler's body language, I'm turning the dial.

Still, I've turning in my picks for week 1, but my heart just wasn't in it.

Still hate the Cowboys, though!  Still hope they crash and burn.  LOL!

We had an evangelist come to our church and I explained to him the difference between a Yooper and a Troll.  I told him that since I am a Yooper living in Texas I must be a Tooper  BTW  If you're lucky enough to be a Yooper, you're lucky enough.  This is going on my next t-shirtI make.   y two most favorite football teams are the Green Bay Packers and any other team that plays "da Bears".  When The Bears and the Cowboys played, I had nobody to cheer for.....

I spent 7 weeks in NE Wisconsin, just 6 miles from Yooperland.  I crossed the Menominee River almost daily.  You bet ya...!!!!!  I had to travel 70 miles to the south to go to a Fresenius Clinic although there was a Baxter clincs just 10 miles away.  I went to the Baxter clinic when I was there in 2011 and was not happy there.   Plus this time I am using the Liberty cycler and they would have had to switch me over to their cycler and then what would I do with it when I left?

How about the Manning Bowl coming up?  And the second week games...any thoughts?

Well, the last time the Giants started off 0-2 they won the Superbowl.  They definitely have multiple problems to overcome this year.  Luckily it looks like they are playing in the NFC Least Division.

As for the rest of the NFL? It has been very exciting I saw a stat that was how many of the games played the first 2 weeks were decided by less than 7 points.  Unfortunately it was not so exciting for me.    (See previous post)

Brady is upset he has no decent receivers. The idiot Patriots let Welker go and didn't re-sign   others         , and Hernandez is in JAIL(not doing dialysis), and Gronk is hurt. Now Amendola is injured and they have 3 rookies. Brady is probably angry at Belichick for all this but is taking it out on the kid receivers. The Pats will keep winning for now with their defense which is decent.

I don't remember...why did they let Welker go?  Was it age or was it salary cap issues?  It is really odd seeing him team up with Payton Manning after so many years watching him play for the Pats.

The Seahawks had a 4-0 pre-season record (yeah, I know, no big deal there) and now have a 2-0 record in the regular season. Whoo hoo, we beat the 49er's in our house w/an almost 1-hour lightning delay!!!

The 12th Man was there in Full Force, and they broke the loudest stadium record. A local radio station created a song to commemorate the event:
