I spent a lot of time reading through all the post of my secret pal.  I am hoping I came up with something he or she will like.  I ordered it and am waiting for it to arrive so I can mail it out!!  This is so much fun, glad I got the chance to be included!

I just have one or two things to collect, and then my gift to my secret pal will be ready for posting early next week.

This IS fun, isn't it!!

My mom works at a store that showcases local artists and craftspeople.  She gave ma few ideas.  The store would probably ship it for me.  They shipped a parcel to my friend in New Jersey last year for her birthday, and nothing in the box was originally bought in the store

I've been reading this thread this morning, and am so sorry I missed out on this.  Life has been pretty crazy around here the past few months so I had not been on IHD much to realize the deadline was coming to get in.  But, I'll look forward to hearing about all the gifts and count me in for next year!

With the help of my mom, I picked out something that I think is to the tastes of my Secret Santee.  It's also hand made and one of a kind.

It occurs to me that if you are receiving a package from abroad, DON'T LOOK AT THE CUSTOMS DECLARATION because then it will spoil the surprise!

That went through my mind the other night.  I was wondering how vague I could be on the customs declaration when I send mine.  I think that I'll have to get Blokey to pick mine up if I'm not in when it arrives, and I'll ask him to scribble over the customs bit and/or remove the gift from its outer packaging for me.  That's if mine is coming from foreign fields, obviously.

Customs official SO do not like "vague".  I tried to be, uh, well, generic.

The Customs thing's a pain!...

I've figured out a way around it.... Here, if your package is under two kilos in weight, you just need to attatch a small green label... Over two kilos, and you need to write your life story on the large label...

So I just keep it a little lighter!!!!....

Ask at your Post Office!...

My shopping is done.  Just waiting for a few things to arrive, and I have one thing I am going to make yet, then its off to ship it.  I hope my "pal" likes everything.  This has been fun.  I love the fact that I had to research my person a little so I could try and find something "special" I felt they would like!!

Thank goodness for internet shopping because I could not find in stores what they listed.
So for customs, you can't say "A Little Bit of This and A Little Bit of That"? :-[ :sarcasm;

Please let me know when your package arrives.  That way I can keep track and make sure everyone has received a gift. You can post here or PM me.
