WOW!!!  Beautiful pict of an absolutely beautiful person.
I am taking all this so personally, like with KellyT's transplant, because these are people that I have met, thanks to our Las Vegas Reunion!!!
I am just thinking about how Susie would be doing a number right about now!

[Thanks for the picts, but i am still waiting for the pee-bag!]
Loads of love to you all, Beth!

You look so beautiful in this picture, Liz.  There is a look of peace in your face that is beyond description.  I know it must be a relief to know, no more sleepless nights and no more throwing up that makes you sicker than sick.  A new day has dawned in your life and it is going to be a tremendous change.
My prayers are still with you.

Paris there are no words to describe how incredibly happy I am for you! I get so emotional when I think about how wonderful this is for you. Your case gives hope and inspiration for so many on this forum. I wish I could give you a hug... Donors and families of donors are heroes. I will keep them in my prayers - what a beautiful gift to give!

3 hours ago: Hurricane Earl is 276 miles ESE of Raleigh (Paris lives there), moving NNE at 18 mph. Max winds 105 mph (Cat 2).

I am hoping from what I've read, that Raleigh is expected to be okay, so I am TRYING not to worry.  :waiting;

Hope to hear more in the morning from AlohaBeth!

Good Morning everyone!

First things first - Earl didn't even give us rain -- but we were fully prepared in case it changed directions last minute (as Hurricane Fran did years ago) So that's good :)

Mom is doing great -- we met with the inpatient coordinator last night with the whole family, just going over all the post-transplant stuff she has to know.  One thing that is really interesting is most people go into this on so many diet restrictions from dialysis -- that having some of the restrictions lifted after the transplant is awesome -- with mom's preemptive transplant - she never had those restrictions -- so all the sudden she's thrown into all these new "can't haves" -- But you know mom -- she is the best patient - she will do anything they tell her to keep this kidney kickin'

And speaking of kickin' kidneys -- here is your long awaited Pee Bag Shot!!

So Melissa is up with her now -- I am moving this weekend (bad timing, huh?)  So I have got to pack today and then I will be up later this evening.  They are still talking about tomorrow for discharge. Melissa and Dad are going to be there for the meeting with pharmicist this morning - - and Melissa says she can tell mom is not feeling great today (but it's the third day - so it's to be expected)

I'll post later with any news :)  Thanks guys for your sweet words -- I have been reading everything to mom!

 :bandance; Great to see that Liquid Gold!!

When Jenna went home (3rd day) she was mostly sore and moving slow, but we managed to walk a little more each day. On day 6 we went to the movies (she wore a filter mask.)  We weighed her twice a day (to check for fluid retention) took her temp and her BP too, so with that and running back and forth for the labs and clinic visits the first couple of weeks, she was tired! But each day got easier, and I hope it does for you too Paris. Lots of love coming your way!!

Paris,

are you  sure you had a  transplant??  You  look GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You do look fabulous, Paris.    And it is so funny you wrote this, Marina.  When I was in the hospital for transplant every single visitor (family/friends) that walked in the door had that look on their face that says "Oh I hate visiting people in the hospital.  They always look so sad and horrible", but as soon as they saw me their eyebrows would raise and they would say "Wow!  You look great!!".  It's funny, cause you would definitely not expect someone who has just gone through any sort of transplant to be sitting up, talking, laughing, ordering people around, etc.  It's amazing and wonderful how far kidney transplant have come.   :clap;

Hey guys!  They are still saying today is the day for discharge!  I wasn't able to go up yesterday which I HATED...  But I am headed up there this morning.

Yesterday was busy and I think she was hurting a lot...  Meetings with the pharmicist, dietician and a few others - so she was pretty worn out.  Her Blood Sugar is back up above 200 - which they keep telling us not to be concerned about, that it is because of the steroids...  She had her catheter out this morning!

She is definitely doing good!  We have the house prepared - had cleaners come in - have hand sanitizer and handwashing directions everywhere - bleach solution directions - her couch all made up into a bed...  Everything to make her comfortable and safe!
