It is almost 8am.  My transplant co-ordinator just called. They are bringing four of us hard to match patients in for testing for a kidney that is available.   I am heading there now.  She said it will be a long day and no guarentees.  Never thought I would even get the back up call.  So, I am out the door.  Prayers would be welcome for all who are being called in.  And for the family who made the decision that has allowed this call to happen.

Hello everyone.  I am sitting here at work going INSANE...  We all don't know what to think -- this is unknown territory for our family.  Sitting with mom this morning -- when she said who was on the phone I couldn't believe it.  It still hasn't sunk in.

She asked that I keep you all posted...

She had the blood drawn about half an hour ago - 15 viles.  She has to get an EKG and a chest X-ray and then just wait. They just said she can't have anything to drink or eat until things are decided...

Dad is up there with her.  This is hard sitting behind my desk just waiting - I am not used to not being with her for all of this...  Waiting is not easy...

Just got ahold of mom -- She says the way it was explained to the 4 that were called is that this particular kidney was not showing the markers for the antibodies that cause the problems with their high PRA levels...

She's done her blood work and tests - now they are just waiting...
