My neck is killing me from when I wrenched it tripping over a cat (!) the other day, I'm having a bad hair day, and nothing good to wear.  Joe's work party is tonight, and it's a bunch of people I don't know, don't really want to know (they're nice people I'm sure, but I have nothing in common with them) and we have to eat dinner with each other and then watch Joe and the others play pool.  I would totally skip it if I could.  So think of me, around 8pm eastern time.  I'll be bored out of my mind.   ::)

Hey Sarah,

I'm thinking of you here in the U.K., everyone else is probably asleep or just about to get up.  I'm going to my bed soon as it is 12:14 am here.  Anyway, maybe you can try and fake illness half way through and go home telling him to stay if he wants and that you will be ok.  I don't know if he will fall for that one though or if you don't like lying or faking things.   :thumbup;

Thanks for thinking of me MattyBoy.  I actually had an ok time, met someone who was pretty nice (another wife).  I did try several times trying to catch Joe's eye while he was playing pool and rubbing my neck like it was hurting, but each time he'd look away and say "who's up for another game?"  LOL so that didn't work.  Oh well.  It's over and done with.

Thanks Suz.  I know how you feel, and sometimes you just have to skip an event or 2 when you don't feel up to it.  I would have, if my plate hadn't already been paid for.   :thumbup;

I know how you feel Sara. When I had to go to my cousin's wedding and Sandman was supposed to go with me but his car rental place screwed him so he had to go home before the wedding, I didn't want to go. I mean, last time I went they took the ice water off the table forcing us to have to go to the bar and my throat was so dry I eventually had to go and drank too much to make up for the dry throat. SO I didn't want to go this time because I thought the same thing would happen. I would rather sit at home where I can keep myself busy instead of sitting there board watching people happy dancing when I can't dance. I know you might say who cares just dance anyway, but last time I did my mom said I was an embarrassment, so needless to say, I do NOT dance anymore.

Some times I just feel like being left alone. Then my sister-in-law comes up to me asking why I am not drinking saying, "come on I have seen you drink before! Just cuz your mom is here..." like that is why I wasn't drinking?? Geeze. Maybe I am just not sociable because I am tired of people in general :P lol

But ya... just like you .. I ended up enjoying a few conversations and my mom's cousin ended up spending quality time talking to me about all that stresses me that I usually keep to myself until I go ka-bo0m on someone lol :P

Glad things worked out Sara!  :cuddle;

Sara, I'm glad that party turned out not to be so awful.  Maybe for future use, you and hubby need a signal you can use with each other that means "let's get the heck outta here".

Yeah, it used to work when I would dig my nails into his arm and give him a really dirty look, but now he just laughs and walks away.   :lol;
